I wonder

if this has anything to do with going for it on 4th down and not kicking the fieldgoals?

Flames6

Congratulations. I know you have wanted this for a long time. Watch out 4A !

most well liked, respected coach in the state.

He will definitely be missed in 3A. You're getting a class act 4A.

What kind of comment is "Tickled Pink"? Congrats Leopards...the program has come a long way since our winless days in the 80's.

KNOX WHO?

What happened to the "savior" of the program in Coach Knox. Going into his first year last year everyone around East, including the administrators/athletic director, thought he was the best ever. Please someone explain.

re: I wonder

Yeah he will probably have a kicker he can count on instead of a Soph. that has never kicked before and was kicking worm burners pregame. Good Luck Coach. We will miss you up here in PC. You made football important for once for the Miners.

East fan

Knox was a bad example and a terrible leader. He blamed his players for close loses. East didnt have a line coach that went to practice more than one day a week until the last 3 games of the season. The "savior" fooled almost everyone. East didn't need a savior they needed a football coach who could win one more game a year. GOOD luck Matich we look forward to supporting you and your new staff. Please find a way to keep Cottonwood and Brighton out of our little league and keep our players at EAST!

re: I wonder

As you know (since you called the play), it had nothing to do with a Sophomore punter in the Logan playoff game. All you had to do was tell him to step out of the end zone and "TAKE A SAFETY". Never should have asked him to punt the "wormburner" in the first place!!

a miner alum

Good Luck to Matich @ east! We are happy to see him there @ East. The alum here in PC have lot to be thankful for right now. Football has always been important in PC, before Matich especially. Like i said Good Luck to Brandon in his new endeavor. PC alum :)

just wondering

Just wondering if you will post this if I write how wonderful the almighty Matich is. I earlier wrote many truthful comments that did not make the post but wondering if this will.
thanks,
just wondering

Hey "just wondering"

Hey "just wondering"....don't you believe what "Anonymous" (aka the coach) said above..."most well liked, respected coach in the state"?

This is just wondering

I can say Anonymous is as far from the truth as you could get. Hopefully, this is not "off-topic" or "abusive" because apparently my first post was one of those.

You say:
"He will definitely be missed in 3A. You're getting a class act 4A."

I'm curious, who exactly is it in 3A that will miss him? The other 3A coaches that he ran up the score on or the ones that he and his assistant coaches tried to harrass after the games? Please clarify!

Who's Next?

Who's the next coach in PC going to be?

PC Parent

To the East High Admin......LOL

Musical Chairs

If i were Park City i would attempt to find a coach that can bring to the table what Matich did. His emotional prowess, an emphasis on the weight room, and someone who isn't going to bail for a mediocre 4A school. I'm throwing 2 names out there.

Eyre @ Ogden

and

Murray @ Weber

Both have had issues with being too emotionally involved and would fit well in a place where that fire is valued.

Re: Musical Chairs

Murray is gone to Arizona

Re: Musical Chairs

Mediocre 4A school? 19 state championships is not mediocre my friend.... East is in a whole different class when your talking tradition compared to PC.

I've heard Eyre is trying to get out of Ogden, so that might be a good fit.
