I think that the final score is 67-49 not 67-39. Brandon Davies had a fantastic, emphatic block towards the end of the second half. The future looks very bright, and the present doesn't look too shabby either. Good job Cougars and Coach Rose.

The Cougs just keep coming up with different winning combinations of players to show their depth and teamwork. Couldn't see the game, 'cause I'm traveling with the military, but enjoyed it over the Web via KSL. Shout out to them for broadcasting it every week. Great game, Coach Rose. And congrats too to Jackson and Brandon for top-notch performances.

BYU is a top 10 team and should be ranked much higher than they are... Obviously NC and Connecticut are both overrated both lost tonight. BYU beat AZ by 30, AZ beat a ranked Washington. BYU beat Nebraska by 22, Nebraska played #3 Kansas tonight and was ahead at the half and lost by only 12. Scoreboard! ... Davies and Haws "WAY" make up for Cummards departure!

Just got back from the game. The Falcons made it a game in the first half, but simply could not get the ball to drop in the second half. AFA played a Junior and four Freshman much of the way. By the middle of the second half the Falcons had lost all confidence... you could see it in their faces. See ya in Provo, Cougar fans. Go Falcons!

Watching BYU vs. Nevada earlier in the year and also watching USU play BYU it is obvious that while BYU is obviously loaded with talent Coach Rose does not value defense. I mean granted Nevada has NBA guys, 2 of them but for BYU to give up the points they do, well it speaks somewhat to the failures of the program.

Coach Rose would do well to take a page from the book of Morrill in Logan and PLAY DEFENSE. Yes we are tremendously talented, more talented than we have been in awhile but we will be the same old one and done if we don't play D.

My opinion only.

While the Cougs could be a top 10 team, the polls are controlled mostly by the same philosophy that controlls college football polls.

At least if the Cougs keep winning in basketball, they can look forward to a playoff for a Championship at the MWC level and in March Madness!

The comment on defense is sure accurate in my opinion also....first half the zone was pathetic and the second half a little more man to man helped....JT plays terrible defense but his offense is needed.

Don't be confused BYU gets it done on offense not D. The poster above has it exactly right. Why do you think we lost to the lowly Aggies??? Well although we are better than them from a talent perspective we don't play D. USU is inferior to us from an offensive standpoint but they D'ed us in Logan and won.

Good example . . . did you see the Logan vs Nevada score? Logan won in OT and how many points did Nevada score on USU? BYU?

I rest my case, we need defense to get to the next level. The sad thing is we have the players to do it but it really comes down to coaching.

I disagree that we can blame BYU's defense. Yielding an average of 62.8 ppg is not bad at all. In the game against the aggies, the cougar shooting got VERY cold in the second half and ultimately led to the seperation in the score. Giving up 71 at the spectrum against a very good team is nothing to complain about. Nice result tonight cougs.

Nevada put up 104, but BYU put up more and WON. Your "IF BYU played the current top 10" scores are way out of the ball park/field house. Where did you come up with your numbers? If the U of U played the same top 10 teams, what would their scores be????? I believe Utah is unranked, and lost again tonight, and is not unbeaten in the conference. Please give your "objective" projected scores for the mighty Utes since you are such a knowledgeable prognosticator.

Ridiculous comment. Thank goodness basketball has the tournament and I hope the Cougars get a win this year.

No D is a huge part of it but they way BYU plays is super up tempo and from my point of view it seems like every year the team gets slower and slower toward the end of the year. Maybe with the deeper rotation we can keep the energy up and not be so worn down when it comes to tourney time.

Its the fact they are so worn down at the end of the year that makes the lack of defense show so bad. Deeper rotation keep it up tempo.

I love all the "hints" for how Coach Rose can do a better job. They really make me snicker. I bet after the game he thinks... "how can I do a better job, I know, I'll go read the comments boards and see what all the knuckleheads would do."
