Good for you, Judge!!
The defendant should consider that he is lucky that I am not the judge! These eco-terrorists think that anything they do is OK, and it is not OK to to just go out and damage and destroy other people's property just because you think it is the right thing to do. There are other ways, more legal, to try to fight for your cause.
I beleive that if you do a crime you must do the time. Viehl must think he can do anything he wants that against the law and then want an easy sentence. Why not just set aside the plea bargin and sent it to trail by a jury. Iam glad to see the Judge is doing his job.
That's what you get for pleading out & apologizing!
You might be able to look up one person but you can't jail an idea.
Eco-terrorism is a very serious crime and becoming more prevalent. Viehl should be held accountable for his actions. Many people feel so entitled and so right, it clouds their judgment. But that should have no bearing on our judicial system or sentencing. Nor should their views be imposed on society. PETA and the HSUS also need to be held accountable for these fanatics.
Animal rights zealots feel that the means justifies the ends even if the animals have to die for their actions. Both PeTA and HSUS have made laws that have caused the deaths of thousands of animals. They are not interested in animal welfare they are only interested in getting rid of all domesticated animals. These people are lunatics and should be prosecuted as they know what they are doing is wrong, but they get a kick out of doing this and they knew that thousands of minks would die in this act. These are not animal lovers these are people haters and animal haters.
I disagree with all of the above comments..STOP KILLING INNOCENT ANIMALS FOR FUR..I don't agree with any one destroying another persons property, but two years is too much..No animal lover should be called a lunatic unless their actions show otherwise..FREE WILLIAM JAMES
