Wow.... i bet the Russian Leauge is paying real close attention to this!
International ball can be a great career expecially if your wife and family is invested in the experience. Players like Toolson can make hundreds of thousands, see the world, prolong their career, and really enjoy this chapter in their lives. Good luck to Ryan - he's one kid the Cougs definitely missed on.
My guess is that Cummard will take a similar route next season even though his first stint with the German team didn't work out. He can make a lot more overseas than in the d-league and he is not an NBA guy so he might as well make his cash overseas. JT will also have a long overseas career particularly because of his Brazilian nationality. Hoffa ended up in Brazil too and will likely have a nice playing career there.
Most good Cougs will end up going this route. Fredette is the only real NBA prospect on the roster but a few could definitely make some money overseas.
Hey Lil Vato, Laugh if you want, but playing overseas is a great option for solid players who do not get the opportunity to play in the NBA. If you land with a solvent team you make a bunch of money and have a great experience. Great for the wife and kids, too, if they are supportive and adventurous. Several guys from Utah schools lived in my ward in Brussels over the years, and they really enjoyed the tour.
