Half those turnovers came cuz the cougs were gettting their arms hacked off. C'mon refs! You really sent UTEP to the line 38 times??!! Could you be more obvious?
Nice win. Good teams keep finding a way to get the job done even in the face of adversity, and it is good to see guys stepping up when their turn comes. The MWC will be tough this year (just ask New Mexico), but if BYU keeps playing hard and playing together you have to like their chances.
Where are the haters now?
Ranked in both basketball and football.
It's great to be a COUGAR!
Nice TEAM win. Keep it going!
This is a special year with more to come!
BYU wins again despite all the constant claims that they are too slow or not athletic. Seems the opposite is turning out to be true. Without Jimmer 2-0 (3-0 if you count UNLV in which he never really showed up). Deal with it Ute fans, BYU is the real deal this year.bb
Yes!!!! It's good to be a Cougar and it always will. Even in the losing years. Get better Jimmer.
...The Tough Get Going! Wow, wow, wow, wow!!! BYU played with heart and intensity. They showed depth and handled diversity. They overcame the loss of their top scorer, the horrible "paid-off" (LOL) refs, and a loud crowd in an arena that has no love for BYU and a long memory of the WAC days. Just a great win, Cougars. Way to go!
In my life I have never posted any complaint about officiating, but was anyone else bothered by the officiating tonight? It really seemed off to me.
For me this was the most impressive win of the season. Nice grit cougs!
U should see us on the balance beam!
Glad the Y doesn't believe in whine!
Sorry I could not see the win on TV, but I am proud the won.
At 16-1, the Cougs may start believing they are invincible so please do not be complacent. Stay hungry!
The polls should smile widely on Monday with all of today's upsets and the Cougars solid wins even without their best player!
Go Jimmer, get well fast!
Mountain West is playing some great bball. Very deep conference with surprise win by Wyoming. Great record against non-conf top 25 teams. BYU game was difficult contest and once again showed how deep we are with different players stepping up game after game. We should see a nice jump in the polls with 10 top 25 losses ahead of us this week.
I always think that people who complain about refs sound silly, but I'm going to sound silly tonight. Terrible officiating! I was impressed by how little BYU's bench complained.
People don't really realize how many teams are in basketball. IT's far more than double than football. To be ranked in the top 25 is a big deal. They'll jump New Mexico and end up in the top 20, especially after two wins over teams with just a few losses.
Loyd is a liability at times but is so quick to the basket. I like that he is getting this playing time now. It will benefit BYU later during the season and again next year.
Great Win...terrible officiating. This is a talented team.
This was a great win without Jimmer. The announcers kept mentioning that BYU was without its star player. I was really impressed with the play of Chris Miles, as well as JT, Haws, and Davies. Miles showed some real grit tonight. This team has unlimited potential.
Go Cougs!
To go into Utep and win without Jimmer. This will help the RPI. Keep this up and we will get a high seeding in the Big Dance and will qwin a couple games. It is time the Cougars get the seeding then Uties have been getting. This year the uties stay home.
Go Cougars. It is great to be a Cougar fan. I will be flying the BYU flag all year this year.
Sad to hear that Jimmer has mono, that could put him out for the rest of the season. I had a friend running track that got mono, he seemed healthy, but just zaps your strength. He redshirted the rest of the year. Without Jimmer, I think BYU loses at UNLV, SDSU, UNM and prob UNM, SDSU at home. You can say you'll be fine without Jimmer, but thats not too likely. Teams will not have to prepare for him, and the threat of him on the floor won't open up shots for others, no help side defense etc., but Good luck though.
BYU GRIT= 100 THREE REFS= 0
Bad Refs.
