It was team basketball and team win. Jerry wasn't himself 2nite good reason. No Deron no problem actually was good becuase every body involved somedegree. Not just one guy dribbles 20 second and shoots or turnover. I thing it was first real good game so far. Go Ak.
Good job team! It was nice to see Sloan out of his chair and his blood pumping. It was also nice to see players competing to save their jobs, well that's what it look like to me. Fes needs more time on the floor that was obvious, but again it good to see him on the floor.
A big applause to Greg M for making a statement on the team and whats expected.
I am still not a fan of management or coaching, but great job.
its official! Deron Williams is only boosting his stats to make the allstar team. Once he's gone the team wins! Trade him and Okur for Yao Ming! Point guards are easy to come by but centers with his size and talent are rare.
Again, glad to see Fesenko get into the rotation and cause some mayhem inside. He got hosed on a couple of foul calls, including that last one, but he battled, and hopefully coach will keep going to him as a reserve. Nice shooting by CJ, hopefully he can get it together and make that the rule rather than the exception. Brewer and Andrei, tough D and awesome sharing the ball. This game was great all around, and glad the Grizzlies were already broken when Sloan went to the small lineup in the third and fourth quarters. NICE game from Gaines, and another D-League success story is born! More coming on Oracle!
Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!
I guess to make the trade work we'd have to add quite a bit of salary that the rockets would give to us as well. I'll give a more detailed trade:
Jazz trade DWILL and Okur and Miles
Jazz get Battier Ming Budinger and Taylor
Reason Jazz do it: They know they are barely hanging on to this season. No championship this year, might as well look to the future. Ming would be a huge piece to build around next year. Jazz save money this year. Battier provides needed defence. Budinger is a good deal for the cost.
Matthews very nice off the bench, good to see him finally get some minutes,he`s earned them,AK also nice game, these two I thought were the difference in this one, again not much Fes...why
Before we get too excited, let's see how we play the next game on the road, at Memphis.
CJ needs to play like that all the time. That is what is frustrating with CJ, inconsistant and questionable Defense.
Love his potential but ???? CJ looks tires and winded all the time. He is a scorer and Sloan needs to go to him as if he is one of his go to guys. Tonight with DWill out CJ came out and looked confident and knocked his shots down.
I'd love to see Fes get more time. What he brings to the game is what the Jazz need. With Booz, CJ and DWill Fes's offense in not as important as his presence in the paint. His offense will come.
I like the lineup of Fes, Booz, AK, CJ and DWill. AK is such a good passer he make the game easier for his teammates.
Great team effort! Nice flow to the game, it really opened things up for everyone and the passing and sharing the ball was great. This is who we are if we want to turn this ship around we have to bottle up the effort everyone gave tonight and do it like that every night. The Jazz where playing like that earlier in the season and seemed to get away from it. Just cuz Dwill was out of the game had nothing to do with it, they played the same way earlier when we won 7of8 or w/e it was not long ago. Hopefully sloan will allow us to play at that pace more often and see what type of team we can be when we play like this. Great game Jazz! great effort and some nice shooting and sharing the ball 39 assists was great to watch!
scored 24 points, also took the most shots and MISSED THE MOST SHOTS,nobody was guarding him, wide open looks, again very shoddy defense,he`s a ball hog
Had to expect a good game after the way they've played lately. Good job staying aggressive all the way to the end. If we can get a contribution like that from AK every night we'll be fine. As for trading Deron, are you serious? Give me a larger sample of him not playing and then say that, and i'm not talking about the couple games he missed earlier. Wait until he sits out like 20 games due to an injury (hopefully not) and then watch the offense. Everybody came out and tried to fill in, now if they would bring the same attitude with him in there, we'd really have a team.
Very good points CL
Whoopdi do! They beat up on a mediocre team that played last night. Let's see what they do at Memphis after the Grizzlies have a day of rest.
Jazzman72 way to call it like it is. I bet Memphis will return the favor and pound the Jazz at home Friday.
I had them winning this game, my disappointment was against New Orleans. They should have won THAT game. They are @ Memphis on Friday and @ Dallas on Sat. during the Cowboys vs. Eagles game. I don't think anyone in Dallas will watch or care since Utah is in town. Not only do our college teams take a back seat, but our pro team does as well.
Good points by many of you.
I won't say "I told you so" to the Sloan/Jazz Haters, because Todd will throw a tizzy and go off on one of his run-on paragraph rants.
All I will say is that this is 1 more game where the Jazz hold their opponents in the low-mid 90's. Between Brewer, Matthews, and Price...we have the ability to be a good perimeter defensive team. And that only helps out our bigs on defense down low. We definitely need a little more of Fez to disrupt in the paint, but we've been holding teams to low scoring all year without him playing big minutes. If he starts getting worked in we should hold teams to less and less. With our offense sputtering so bad, having Memo in is still good at times to break up the scoring.
Still too early to tell who this team is, but I liked the team involvement tonight. I think it also helps to have Deron looking from the bench to observe what's going on. He's usually not able to do that. AK played like his old self tonight too. Good win.
I can't believe the stupidity on these comment boards... trade D-will for Yao ming?..??. are you insane? You want to trade a top 3 point guard for a guy who cant stay healthy for more than a few months at a time, and possibly wont play in the NBA again after this current injury? c'mon Think people!! The worst possible thing the Jazz front office could do right now is trade D-will.
almost 5X5 by AK in 28 min only. Guess why? Because he got involved more in offense without Deron dominating the ball and looking for Boozer only. It is funny - take either Boozer or Williams from the team and they start playing most enjoyable game ( game vs Lakers comes to mind when Boozer/Okur was out, we won by 20 and AK had triple double )
But ... lets trade him as when Deron comes back and Sloan will but him back to 18-20 min a game you all will be complaining about his contract.
Nice win for the Jazz and good article as well.
The people who want to trade Williams are nuts and don't know anything about basketball, IMHO. Williams is the future of the team. Yao's seen better days.
Cheers.
Give AK more min he will be the change in the game to make us winning. I hope they will not trade him complaining about his contract. With out playing time how can he produce?
Hope Sloan will continue to play him more and more. He can play any position. If he plays more min every game he will be getting triple double stats.
defensive team. Lets see how Utah plays on the road and over the next 10 games before getting excited.
Good defensive teams can grind the Jazz offense to a halt unless the outside shots are falling.
CJ was hot. Price had a good game. AK hit a few. Korver got one. Maybe the Jazz outside shooting will improve a little. That is a key. It balances the offense and takes the pressure off of the DWill/Boozer 2 man inside game tha results in so many TOs. Okur is also a key.
The inside game can not work well unless there is enough efficiency in the outside game.
Other teams find players who will play defense and who can also hit 3 pointers and they don't over pay them.
The Jazz could do likewise but so far have not been willing to trade good talent for better.
That is one of the biggest weaknesses of Jazz management. They love good and will not trade for better.
