Olympus had a good game tonight. Our defense did have some troubles and looked tired in the 4th, but overall our defense looked great and complimented our offense very well. Our defense is getting better every game and is putting the pressure on our opponents.
To bad Jordan Loveridge was in foul trouble and there starting 2 guard Jesse Herrin out with inj. or I think the jags win, same thing happened when olympus played bingham Ben Clifford was also in foul trouble. check the box score, loveridge sat out the entire 2cnd quarter and OLY out scored WJ 20-9. the jags are youg but they are well coached so they will rebound from this loss and be ready for region
Nicky P throwing down with authority!!
olympus has a great team they will be the team to beat in 4a as far as west jordan goes they should be just fine they played a tuff pre season schedule that will get them ready for region play, i have notice a lot of talk about region 4 but the state champ will come from region 3 again. in the last ten years a region 3 team has won or played for a champion ship
bingham, west jordan, or copperhills will be the last team standing when its all said and done.
To West Jordan fan, does your excuse make you feel better? Oly played at West Jordan and we dominated the game. Give some credit. It had nothing to do with fouls. Oly is the best "team" in the state....at any level.
There is a reason that Clifford and your guy were in foul trouble. When most teams try to stay clear from one of the better players on the floor, Oly attacks him.
As you have a dismal season coming off of your state championship, take comfort in the fact that you only loss to a real team by 10.
we all herd the same smack talk last year and the year before from oly dont choke again this year in the playoffs ha ha
Oly got outscored by 24 to 9 during WJ comeback.
Doesn't sound like much defense to me.
Don't get to excited over that victory, West Jordan is starting two shopomores and a junior, and one of their starters was out with a concussion. West Jordan will be okay, their losses are against some of the better teams in the state and those were close games. Briggs will have that team playing championship basketball by the time the playoffs arive. This years champion will come from the west side of the valley (Bingham, West Jordan, Copper Hills).
To West Side BB fan, I agree with you. And Bingham and WJ both lost to Oly. End of discussion.
Why can't Barnes take OLY to a state championship? Neither could Huber before him! OLY's old gym was cursed by Andy Boyce. Just wait until the new gym is built...then OLY will dominate.
I have noticed that West Jordan's losses are to very good teams, but their victories are over teams that are not quite stellar. They seem to be a very average team based on this. Although they do have a strong basketball tradition, I doubt they will be able to repeat as state champions.
curse? what? come on!
Olympus is a great team and they will be for years to come because their younger teams a very good too. The thing that will always keep Oly out of a championship is their style of play. They rely too heavily on the three and don't put enough effort into their defense. Coach Barnes is a great coach and they will continue winning region championships but never that state championship unless he puts more emphasis on defense. The Jaguars will always be a good team because of coaching and the type of kids they have there. Look out for both teams but the Jaguars more in the playoffs.
ready to rumble when Region play starts, and even more so in the playoffs, look for a deep run. Oly better not fall into a lax attitude with their dismal region.
Keep your foot on the throttle coach barnes. Don't let up during the region season. Oly can win it all if you stay sharp. Oly has everything necessary for a state championship.
To Barnes: Olympus is a great school and has a great team. I do not think they have a curse on the court at all. By the way the coach before Barnes was Mike Riley not Huber and before riley it Was John Bowman.Olympus went to the championship game where we played Sky View my Sophmore year. Which happened to be Bowmans last year there.
Scrape East BY 35!!!
