"President Obama has broken his pledge to the American people to be transparent throughout this process," Florida Gov. Charlie Crist said Tuesday.

As a candidate, Obama pledged during a presidential debate in January 2008 that he would be "bringing all parties together, and broadcasting those negotiations on C-SPAN so that the American people can see what the choices are."

That has not occurred, and even C-SPAN is taking note.

Senate to House: "I know! Let's pass a 1,000+ page healtch care bill that most of us haven't read, give only a couple of days for American citizens to read before we vote on it, cap what doctors can make, decide on what medical procedures will be approved and what ones won't, force Americans to get insurance or pay a tax, even though we have NOOOOO authority to tax anyone for any activity other than running the country, lie our faces off by telling the people that it will virtually pay for itself, lie even more by telling them we'll run it efficiently (never mind our other large government agency failures like Freddie, Fanny, Medicare, Medicaid....) and do it all despite the fact that most Americans with an IQ of room temperature know this idea stinks to high heaven. How about we do that?"

House to Senate: "Sounds great!"

We will start collecting taxes now and for the next 5 years. This will be counted as the revenue. Then we will actually start using some of that revenue to actually provide the services but only for 2 years.

Starting over seems to be the mantra of the re-PUBLICANS with regard to healthcare.

So hope and change is really more of the same ole same ole, only with 12 trillion in record-breaking debt, and now loss of freedom and control over health care and one-sixth of the economy. Oh, and free health care for illegal immigrants and poor people (however that's defined) lacking insurance -- all at our expense. Yes, I'm Hoping for Change --- in 2012!!! Hope we survive until then.

Get rid of them all - that is exactly what the Declaration of Independence said and I quote: "whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends (the Constitution) it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government." So lets vote everybody out of office come 2010 and 2012 and start over with a wiser. more committed to the constitution, willing to listen to and represent the PEOPLE and egar to save the America we all love.

The Declaration of Independence was written *before* the Constitution so it could not be referencing it!

Also the Declaration of Independence is not a binding document, just like the Articles of Confederation are not either. What is binding is the Constitution, the Constitution says Congress can pass laws and the President can sign them (or veto them). That is what is happening in this case.

I'm just utterly flabbergasted at how terrible this Democratic Congress is acting, and few there be in the media besides the usual Fox News and Limbaugh that are calling it out. Do people care anymore? Secret deliberations, midnight votes, buying votes to ram things through, and trillions in debt. How awful. These leaders need to be replaced asap. This is dereliction of duty.

Meanwhile the State of Utah does nothing to implement a plan to cover those who cannot afford healthcare in the State of Utah.....

People should be complaining about the State Government for not helping its own people that are without affordable healthcare before complaining about the federal government.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven. There was NO transparency! There was no reading the bill before voting on it! There was massive collusion between the dems and the SEIU! There were legislators literally bought off for their precious votes on this bill! Makes me want to puke!
