WHAT is the Deputy's name???
"Possible suspect"? If they are surrounding him to capture him, isn't it for sure they suspect he did it? I guess it must be true since they wrote that the guy is only possibly a suspect. I guess since it's only possible that they suspect him for shooting the deputy that they might just be carrying out a practice exercize.
How many law enforcement officers must be killed in the line of duty before the legislature finally decides to provide the funding that police agencies need? With adequate funding, police agencies would be able to hire enough officers and provide them with the equipment they need to protect themselves from exactly the kind of violent acts that occurred in this case.
my uncle was killed back in alabama while on duty my heart goes out to the family of the falled officer.........sad thing is my unlce was killed in the end of sept. the trail for the guy just started this month......... its gonnna be a while before he gets the trail.......but any cop killer faces CAPITAL ONE MURDER
As a wife of a Sheriff's Deputy in neighboring Juab County my heart goes out to this Deputy's family. I agree with Whiggy. Our funding for reserves is no longer available which means tomorrow my husband is the only officer on his shift. We also will suffer this spring when the Sand Dunes open again for another season and we can't pay other agencies to come help us!! I pray for this family and all the officers who go to work everyday in this country.
Exactly what "equipment" would have prevented this incident? The current story has exactly ZERO details about what has occurred, so what almighty power has given you such profound insight into this tragedy? One thing is for sure, you apparently know nothing about law enforcement if you think that "more money, more money" makes police work safe. No matter what the police budget is, there will ALWAYS be risk.
How does a bright orange corvette drive from Millard to SLC (3 hours) without anyone seeing it after a cop has been shot? Something doesn't add up here.
How do you know that MONEY could have prevented this? It's possible, but it's also possible that it wouldn't have.
Let's just think for a moment. Our police dept. here in the small town that I live doesn't have a lot for a budget. The town banker stepped in and bought three tazer guns and have made a tremendous amount of differenence for the safety of our officers. The banker appreciates the police and the service they provide. Those guns didn't come cheap! Also, I have a feeling the person that spewed such vile at Whiggy is not in law enforcement. You go, Whiggy.
if you've ever been to utah then you know that there's nothing between millard and utah county. how he got through utah county without anyone seeing him is probaby because nobody was looking for him
This is happinen two streets over from where I work, there is a life flight landing over there, someone else must of gotten hurt. Probably the gunman
It's not 3 hours from Millard to SLC either, that far north in Millard anyway. Those open desert roads, empty of course in the early morning hours and being able to drive as fast as you can, it's not that far at all. By the way, the deputy that died was a female.
I'm not an Obama guy, but our last President "W" didnt do anything about illegal imagrants either.............
I hope they catch this guy and prosicute him to the fullest extent of the law.....
With what we spend on the two wars over in far away lands you would think we had more mony to give law inforcment to help over here in our land............
they definately need more of a budget. If there was enough of a budget to have 2 police per vehicle do you think it might knock down the murders of police officers? I do
Officer that had been killed,today..
Seems like Bad times are getting
much worse then ever.
West side of lake (Utah lake) you can drive almost all the way to Salt Lake county and not see any other cars until Saratoga springs
@@UNLV: That's my point. The car drove for 2 hours in the middle of nowhere after shooting a cop and no one noticed it driving on the freeway? There are not very many roads between Provo and Millard to hide on. Somehow this car drove 3 hours. How many bright orange cars do you see on the road?
Everyone is bringing up what has happened in the past who cares... all that matters is that a Daughter, wife, mother, Police officer has been killed. I hope the person who did this is caught and dealt with accordingly. My heart goes out to the family friends and coworkers of this officer.
Either way you look at this, you can critisize each other or whatever you feel is necessary, but she was a good cop. She will be loved and missed. My Heart goes out to her family.
When you get on here and want to shoot off your mouth remember that she was out ther doing her job by trying to keep us safe in return she is shot and killed. It's a tragedy. To those who say innocent til proven guilty... He mustve been guilty of something to need to kill a cop.
Our community is saddened by this, today we lost a family member, a sister, a daughter, a mother, a cousin, and a friend. Lets remember this great family in our prayers.
