@Shecky

Yes Sloan did create the TOs. He designed them into his offensive system which does not work anymore. The TOs are not a new phenomena. Sloan knows exactly what causes them. It is called the right defense by the other team.

Sloan knows exactly what will stop his offense and he is seeing more and more teams do it.

The Truth IS>>>

Here's why the Jazz can't and won't make any significant changes this season.

Trades-Boozer is the only possible trade that any team would want with his expiring contract and numbers. AK's contract is to high and won't be attractive until its expiring, same case with Memo.

Coach-Sloan won't be fired because the Millers have too much invested time and an extension commitment, but I highly doubt he'll choose to return past the extension.

System-The Jazz have run this system in part for 20+ years. The major flaw in the system is it takes all 5 guys on the court to run it. That's why so many basketball fans have enjoyed watching it when ran at full. The problem is we are no longer in an era of true team basketball, the me-first, pre-madonna allstar mentality has destroyed basketball. The Celtics are the only team I've seen who display the desire and capability to run a team set. I would even liken Doc Rivers to a Sloan like coach, although he is younger and seems more adept to making in game changes necessary to win.

The Truth IS>>>

So why would we trade our biggest offensive horse?
What could we possibly get in return?
Why fire a coach who's given us the last glimpse of real basketball? Don't worry, he'll be gone soon.

And don't forget the money issue, the Jazz are in a tough financial situation with the luxury tax, it's
all they can do to put themselves in a good position for the not so distant future. The Jazz aren't a top tier team because of their lack of heart, and effort. They might be sick of playing together and seeing the same old faces in the locker room, which translates on the court and destroys any chance of winning with the team based system that Jerry runs. The sad truth is we will need a new coach soon, not because he's a bad coach. But because he still believes in playing TEAM BASKETBALL, and that's something that no one else believes in anymore.

Same old JAZZ . . .

Until they get rid if Sloan it will be the same JAZZ team. Need a younger coach with new coaching techniques, one that can motivate the team by being a lot more positive instead of negative.

HORNACEK FOR COACH.
MY GRANDMA CAN SHOOT BETTER THAN BREWER.
I always thought I would be a die hard fan no matter what -but after last night it is tough. Especially since I work with so many Laker fans who like to harrass me.

Houdini

miles has his minutes cut because he is un- productive, just like last year,if he helped us win,his minutes would be up,plain and simple

Ryan

Never thought I'd say this but Deron Williams has become very problematic for me.

He doesn't seem to know when to be a scorer and when to be a distributor.

Either something is wrong with him or he has peaked.

I don't see him leading this team like he should.

The nachos

were the only thing that was good at the game. The Jazz looked like they were trying out for the Globetrotters and they were not going to make the team.

a highly improbable thought

1) jazz trade Kirelinko and Korver for TMacs expiring contract freeing up 23mil next year
2) jazz sign Chris Bosh
3) TMac and Boozer decide to stay. because a starting line up of Dwill, TMac, Boozer, Bosh, and Okur is too good to pass up.

I dont care what people say, TMac can still play better than kirelinko and korver. how is this a bad thing?

If Todd wants to post 5 times every article so be it. You're obviously reading them so maybe you should get a life. I can't believe people are asking for t-mac he's terrible on D. There's a reason Houston won't play him.

I have a feeling this is Sloan's last year, and the franchise will make wholesale changes; Boozer will be gone, we know that, maybe Kirilinko and even Williams. This team is going nowhere. The good news is we get New York's #1 pick, and maybe if we're bad enough, we'll get a high pick for ourselves.

Miles

@houdini: Jerry cut CJ's minutes and we are (drum roll please) losing every game.

jazzman72

@Miles, CJ is just too inconsistent. He teases us any looks really good some times, but a lot of other times he stinks up the place. You always say it's because he doesn't get enough playing time, but even when he gets significant playing time, he doesn't make the most of it. Until he becomes a more complete player with better defense and rebounding, he won't get more playing time. Notice how he rarely plays at the end of games? Jerry doesn't have confidence in him at crunch time.

To argue with most of these comments is like trying to talk common sense to the mentally insane. This is coming from someone who has played very serious ball and understands!

Everyone can improve in some areas - most could improve in all areas. Even though some things could be done to mask a major problem and sooth the public - you fix the one major problem and the rest of the problems will start to fix themselves.

Major problem is Boozer. You put someone in that position who can be trusted and gives two hoots about anyone besides himself and see what happens. Have a player who gives his all and is fiercely defending what the Jazz have stood for ~ and within a few weeks you are a top contender.

Name one person in the NBA with Boozers talent that gives less effort and then flaunts it! Don't you think the rest of the team including coaches despise him but we're trapped in his contract. KOC should have dealt with this long ago or maybe Greg Miller should deal with KOC as he is the only one who can get rid of him!

Cowboy Joe ON KNICKS PICK

People need to stop talking about the KNICKS PICk they are in the playoffs if they started today. The Jazz pick might be a high lottery pick.

I say trade DWILL and Boozer tank the season and get JOHN WALL. That dude is a stud

l in idaho

I thought it was a walk thu practice not a game that counted in the standings. What a heartless game they played like Idont care if we win or lose. Price and Matthews played like they wanted to win.Should of pulled the starters and played ALL THE BENCH. Do they have to pass the ball 3 or 4 times before they shot??lots of times they were open with good shots but would pass the ball and let the defence have time to cover and get set up.

#1 Jazz Fan

Because I LOVE the Jazz, I admit this team will never be able to win it. It's time to blow them up and start over, including D-Will. It's not working and we're fooling ourselves if we ever think it will.

It's sad when Ronnie Price is far and away the best player on the floor.

Let's hope O'Connor does the right thing this trade deadline.

Chuck Nunn

Actually, the Knicks aren't in a playoff spot yet, but I agree with Cowboy Joe that folks ought not to pin too high of hopes on it. Utah's pick is protected through No. 17 before it would fall to Minnesota.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone out there in the league is willing to offer a trade for anyone on the Jazz that would help the team. But my whole take has been to better utilize the players that Utah has before making a big change. That starts with rotation minutes for Fesenko and Koufos to make things a little tougher defensively for opponents in the paint for stretches in the game and hopefully give the Jazz an edge that they don't currently have. It's not too late.

Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!

FRANK

I THINK IT TO BAD THAT EVERYBODY IS KNOCKING DERON
DOWN SURE HE HAS NOT PLAYED LIKE WE EXPECT HIM TO PLAY BUT HE HAS BEEN PLAYING INJURED SLOAN SHOULD HAVE TAKING DERON OUT WHEN THEY WHERE PLAYING DENVER AND RESTED HIM FOR NEW ORLEAN HE HAS BEEN STRUGGLING SINCE HE INJURIED HIS HAND AND HE HAS BANGED UP KNEE HE STILL THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE JAZZ YOU CAN SEE THE FRUSTRATION ON HIS FACE WHEN THE TEAM IS STRUGGLING HE PLAYING WAY TO MANY MINUTES AND FAR AS COMPARING HIM WITH CHRIS PAUL IT NOT FAIR I THINK IF CHRIS WAS INJURIED LIKE DERON HE WOULD NOT EVEN TRY TO PLAY

todd to chuck

Of Course, the night after denver beats us they drop a game at home yet to Philadelphia.

You knew that would happen....
