It's not the final non-MWC game

BYU still has UTEP on the schedule so this is not the final non-MWC game.

Seed

If BYU can cruise through MWC play with only 1 or 2 losses, and then win the tournament, they might get a high enough seed to actually win a NCAA tournament game.

I hope they have a great season but there will be no cruising through the MWC. The conference looks tough this year. The cougs could use a decent seed though.

No but it's the final non-MWC "tuneup" before conference play starts. The UTEP game is after a conference game with UNLV.

Won't need them

BYU won't need either Fredette or Emery to beat Eastern New Mexico. This should be an opportunity for the bench to log some playing time because in the past few games the subs have been looking a little shaky.

The MWC looks strong except for utah which once again is dragging down the credibility of the league.

Can we send them to the WAC and add Idaho St. to the MWC?

BlueBoy

Wouldn't it be nice for the bigs to get more touches and shot attempts? This team is so guard-heavy in its scoring that it'd be very helpful if BYU tried to go inside a lot more. The inside game needs more experience and confidence building.

Maybe JT can break out of his slump by getting more minutes if the Fredette and Emery don't play. His being benched has obviously affected his scoring, which was at a career low percentage before being benched.

So, who won?

The article was written yesterday saying the game was "today". So who won?

Re: So who won?

Written yesterday, for today's paper, silly doof.

The mighty will fall

BYU will lose tonight. And the Utes will beat LSU.

The times, they are a-changin'.

Idahoan

JT offered to sub in instead of starting.

The Regular

season has little impact on seeding. Sunday play and previous tournament performance are more important.

No matter what the record, BYU will be seeded 8 or 9 in the tournament and have to play another 8 or 9 seed that should have been a 4. In the event of a win, the next game is a number 1 and they're out of the tournament.

NCAA wants BYU out fast.

Thanks Mighty

Hey... The Mighty will fall

Thanks for calling BYU mighty!! very kind of you to say...since that is not how I would describe the Utes basketball team:)

idablue

Why does the NCAA want BYU out of tourney early? Makes no sense to me with no sunday play for the championship. All this talk of seeding in the nCAA; let's wait and see how the league turns out. I wouldn't write off Utah just yet either. There are lots of great teams in the conference this year and it will be great games with no one running off with the big lead. I think you have to be 'rated' and win your conf. tourney to earn a seed of 4 or better if you are from a mid-level conference.
go cougs. maybe this year is the year, instead of saying, well maybe next year....

COUGAR NATE

I'm writing off the utes. They have lost to some poor teams, and when they thought they had a good game, when they almost beat oklahoma. ou has shown they are not all that good after all. Go Cougs!!!!!

go byu

way to beat up on a Division II!!!!!!!

if only there was a DI team 10 feet away that you could play that you wont play...oh wait...

uvu?

byu afraid of uvu so they play dII's instead. ok USU.

it was one thing to take usu's colors but now u take their bball schedule too?
