The Utes look like they really are poised to set an NCAA record. That is quite an accomplishment. Hats off to you.
That's too bad about Sefa. I know that he had a really high interest in going to BYU but the problem was that he couldn't meet the academic requirements. I'm not saying that to downtalk the Utes, I'm just stating the facts. BYU really would have taken him had his grades been better. It's too bad because BYU could have used him, they really needed him. BYU will be thinned out on the defensive line with Jan Jorgensen, Russell Tialavea, Vic So'oto, and Brett Denney all leaving.
some serious, good program schools that Utah defeated during the streak: USC, Southern Mississippi, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Cal.
BYU, on the other hand, struggles vs: Arizona, California, Marshall, Louisville, Tulane --that is correct, Tulane
I am a BYU fan, but want to congratulate Utah on their big victory Wednesday night in San Diego. This victory, along with BYU's on Tuesday night, will go along ways to demonstrate to the BCS that the MWC is strong enough to be competitive with other conferences. This whole fiasco with the BCS needs to come to an end NOW.
It's awesome being a fan of a team that has such an incredible streak. 12-3 in bowl games is remarkable.
Go Utes!
Way to go Utes. You made us all proud. I hope you extend your streak to 10 next year.
Hey "Wow"... haven't you noticed, we're all in a no-smack detente period right now. Until the Fiesta bowl is over, we're all just MWC fans. No need to taunt.
Besides, you put Cal on both lists. Oops.
I am a Utah fan and remember those years when Utah football was a perrenial doormat. Utah's rise began with Ron McBride. Seems like we don't hear that much. Ron. If you're reading this- you really deserve the sole credit for reviving the program. And let's not forget that McBride and Lavell Edwards set the tone for a much more civil rivalry with a genuine friendship between two great coaches. So my hat off to McBride.
Now that would be a good number. Go Utes!
Proud of the Utes!!!!!!1 Looking forward to next year Pittsburgh, Norte Dame, Iowa St now thats a non conference schedule
Wishing all football fans (Utah as well as BYU) a Merry Xmas.
Hope you all will have a good 2010.
Utah fans: get ready for another BCS bowl in 2010 season.
BYU fans: better be ready for another Las Vegas bowl in 2010 season.

Ute fans look forward to another trip to San Diego.
USC WAS 6-6
GT WAS 8-4- Decent team but no were near great
Southern Miss- Are you kidding me- Your reaching
Pitt-Was terrible-7-4 or 7-5 going into that game-
Fresno State- Wow that is a great program.lol
Navy- Sorry-No were near a top program
Bama- Great win
GT- good win
Cal- Good win
3 out of 9 is not bad
Face it MWC gets very average teams to below average teams in all there bowl games. They have to get to a BCS game to play anyone of the top programs. That isnt even a for sure thing as TCU is playing Boise. Sorry Boise you are not an elite team
I was unaware there was a BCS bowl game next year in San Diego but I will take it. Thanks
zoobs here to run their mouths. They've been losing to average teams in their bowl games.
Michigan 6-6, their biggest bowl win ever. Not impressive.
Great win! Congratulations to the Utes for representing the Mountain West so well.
When will everyone stop slamming the bowl opponents since the schools don't choose their competition !
Utah's win streak was no fluke as they played whoever was thrown into the mix. The difference was that they prepared and won. BYU, on the other hand, has won one in a row.. woooo hoooo.
Try getting a few wins then get back to us.
By the way Max and Jan.s comments really curled my bacon as I think that they were the poorest sports and biggest babies I have ever heard. I hope the coaches and Holmoe put a gag order out and let the logical and level headed pipe up next year.
look back and see through the comments to see who was talking smack. start with "wow" @ 5:40 pm. pretty sure it started with a Ute fan.
Re: Wow
Kind of funny how you list Cal as a bad loss for the Cougars, and then also list Cal as a big win for your Utes. Typical Ute fan with the double standards.
A Cougar fan knocking Utahs bowl record. Ha. Laughable. BYUs bowl record this last decade consists of Vegas Bowl Pac 10 middle-o-roaders. That's it. As good as it gets for the Cougies. Vegas Vegas Vegas Vegas Vegas. Enough said.
In your dreams socalutefan. San Diego is for the third place MWC team, the one that beats an unranked team without their starting QB.
By no means do I think that the national media, coaches, and computers used to establish rankings are perfect, but they are almost certainly less biased than most of us posting on these sites. They agree that Boise State is a perennial top 10 program. For us to acknowledge that fact doesn't discount Utah and BYU, but failing to do so makes us look jealous and petty.
I am glad to see the BCS award a second at large bid to a non-BCS school; both TCU and BSU are deserving. However, I wish they had the courage to put the two stepchildren up against BCS schools rather than having them play each other. This way the big conference stiffs will casually say "I told you they weren't any good" about the Fiesta Bowl loser, and dismiss the winner by saying "well, they didn't beat a REAL team." It's a lot safer than pushing all their chips in and risking two repeats of last year's Sugar Bowl scenario.
I am a Utah fan first, and underdog fan at heart. I normally like to see BSU win, but this year it's Go Frogs!
