gotta learn not to take your foot off the gas pedal too early; Nebraska made a nice little comeback, but, BYU managed to hang on for another close 20-point win :)
a win at Arizona could be just the ticket for cracking the Top 25!
Go Cougs!
I thought that coach Sadler copped out when asked how BYU would fare in Nebraska's conference. He refused to compare the Cougars with other Big 12 teams. It's part of the way the MWC gets treated at the national level in basketball as well as football. "Keep them marginalized and they will never challenge us," seems to be the attitude.
Considering the Big 12 has two of the top 5 teams in Kansas and Texas and Kansas State playing exceptionally well, I'll answer for him, probably not very well.
Another loss for Utah.
copy, paste
It'll be an easy job for the writers this season.
And your point! This early in the season the polls don't reflect reality. I imagine BYU would at least split 50-50 with these two, so until they play each other it is purely arrogant speculation on your part. The BCS shuld be renamed the BACS for Big Arrogant Conference Campionship.
Congrats Cougars!
Sadly an abundance of Christmas Cougar gifts, might cause overlooking the BBall in favor of the FBall, but this title was a whale of an accomplishment.
Fellow Cougars, let's get out the the gutter fight and learn to appreciate what the Cougars do, not what the Utes don't do. The win over Nebraska can stand on its own.
LOL. BYU, UNM, UNLV, SDSU would all finish in the top half of the Big 12 this year. Sure, Kansas will always be on top along with Texas. That's how those BCS millions get distributed. It's reality. But the top half of the MWC would compete favorably for sure. Whether it be Provo, The Pit, T&M or San Diego, those venues are hard to get wins in. Texas and KU would have to focus hard or they would lose. The MWC looks great this year. Now if Utah could just get it together. Pepperdine???
ReHow many games in the big 12 have you watched. If you car guess, so can I. BYU would play every Big 12 team as good or better than most teams right now. Go Blue
Congratulations to BYU football and basketball teams this week. Outstanding! The games were well played and entertaining to watch. Go Cougars!
Whine all you want about national respect but until BYU starts winning games in the NCAA tourney they will never be taken seriously. You have to earn respect.
It does'nt matter what Sadler thinks about how BYU would compare. Basketball is completely different than football because there is a playoff. BYU has shown us how they compare the last two years by getting beat by a Big 12 team to end their season. Can teams be marginalized? Yes, but in basketball you can always prove them wrong and so it does't happen for long or the ones marginalizing look too foolish. As BYU fans, we have to be patient for national attention because our basketball team has'nt done enough late in the season to warrant much. This basketball team will have a chance to change that if they continue to improve. I'm looking and hoping for that more than any ranking. Why are we so preoccupied with what others think of our team?
What to go!!
It's good, but troubling when our leading rebounders are consistently our guards. Where are the bigs? These guys should be rebounding better than they are. But, wow, what a team these guys have turned into.
What to go???????
when BYU is leading Utah 37-5.
Come on and give us a BIG BREAK!!!
The kittens owned the refs!!
Just another LUCKY win!
When the EWES play you...the end score will be in the YEWTS' favor!
GO YEWTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, as Jimmer goes, BYU goes? Seems so.
Jimmer will need to be very careful with his fouls, as other teams will realize he's the key, so will try to get him off the floor.
Boy, was this 4-game tourney stretch a nice one for BYU. Big early runs against two good teams. And mostly because of Jimmer's play.
It helps that Emery and Haws compliment Fredette. One of them seems to be hot when the other isn't. Nice backcourt, BYU!
Too bad New Mexico lost to a nobody. That'll nearly drop them out of the rankings. A win might've gotten them into the top 10.
Let's hope the top three in the MWC maintain their dominance so that the conference can get some higher-seeded teams this year and have a chance to advance for once.
Thanks for an entertaining hoops and FB run. OSU and the PAC 10 finally got exposed.
What a dork! Owned what refs? Are you talking basketball like the rest of us here? Or just sulking over the butt whooping that OSU rec'd at the hands of BYU the bowl? Typical Ute fan, will never acknowledge where credit is due...All I can say is go UTE B-ball, looking pretty great right now! Yippie!!! Can't even beat Jr. College teams right now...I think my son's Jr High school team would put them UTEWTIES in their place...
Nah. What game was it when Jimmer and JT were both as cold as ice? Our bench came up and played big, and we won.
