Thank you Joe for this excellent article on peace. To break down a word gives its true meaning. Peace a very appropriate message to all people at this time of the year. I note another "ity" word "tranquillity" comes comes into focus as part of peace. Have a good peaceful Christmas.

How about another timely one.
Only-begotten (monogenes) with reference to Christ, "The word begotten does not imply a beginning of his Sonship. It sugggest a relationship indeed,but must be distingushed from generation applied to man. We can only understand the term 'only begotten' when used of the Son, in the sense of unoriginated relationship. The begetting is not an event in time,however remote but a fact irrespective of time." (Vines Biblical Dictionary p 447)
