...and Johnson is an observer. That says it all. We need better recruiting in the skill positions. We need NFL quality! If our QB can't go on to the NFL how good was he really? Maybe last years BCS bowl win was a fluke.

Anonymous = pathetic Coug

Anonymous you are so easily identified as a Cougar troll it's not even funny. At least put A LITTLE effort into disguising your comment. That is hilarious!

Re: Anonymous

Please don't come on here on post like you are a Utah fan. I don't care if Brian Johnson never plays another down in his life. He was a winner. He had decent talent but not great talent. However, he found ways to win games. If you were a real Utah fan would you really care what Johnson did after he just helped you go undefeated?

BleedCougarBlue

Johnson not going to the NFL didn't really surprise me but Sakoda?

Now THAT surprised me....

Sakoda did not make it into the NFL because of leg strength. He cannot get a kickoff past the 10 yard line

danburtreynolds

apparently his lack of leg strength on kick offs hurt him. he did however play half a season in tne cfl, and i think his team lost in Grey Cup. Given the youth of the team at a certain position, I hope BJ can be around for a long time

Ty Detmer

was not a great NFL quarterback. Come on guys, it is a completely different game.

bergstro

Also keep in mind that NFl teams have ONE kicker each, and these guys hang around for years. There's maybe one opening per year.

NFL

The NFL is a completely different game at the qb position. The list of qb's who were heroes at the college level and then crashed and burned in the NFL is long.
Just be glad BJ wasn't put in the limelight just to come crashing down.

Brutus

I'm new to this area so I don't know who Johnson is. Does this guy have a severe case of the Peter Pan Syndrome? Isn't he a little old to be hanging out?

BYU!

Move on with life you two. This reminds me of two college guys still going to high schoo parties.

Go BYU!!!

Hanging Around

I'm at least proud that our quarterback enjoys hanging around. Max Hall has already left town. Max Hall won't get a sniff fromt he Pros but he's already distanced himself from his alma mater.

Re: BYU

As a Zoobie what would you know about parties anyway??

re BYU!

How many former BYU players were there on the sidelines for no reason during the BYU-UTAH game?

RE: Brutus 12:03

You are obviously new. Johnson is 24 years old which would qualify him as a Junior at BYU.

MiP

Brian Johnson and King Louis are great guys. Hopefully by hanging around, their mojo will rub off on the current team and they'll beat Cal tonight!

BYU Season ticket holder

Johnson was a great QB and I hated playing against him because he was a great competitor. Just because he didn't make the NFL does not diminish what he did at Utah. He will be a great asset to the Utes if he decides to go into coaching. I was surprised about Sakoda but with the few kicking positions in the NFL and kickers able to stay forever, there is very little turnover. Both great players on a great team that had a great 2008. Now hopefully the Utes will stick it to the Cal Bears tonight and keep the winning streak going for the MWC. Go Utes!!!!!!

Brutas

I am a BYU fan bit that was funny. Go Cal

Captain Cougar

Uhhh, weren't any of the NFL guys watching on Sunday? Dallas, NYJ, and WASH could all use a guy who doesn't shtoink it off the upright (If it makes it that far). Hang in there King Louie, there's a spot for you yet.
