Nice one O'Neal? Chambers needs to FOCUS. We'll need a TD from him and he'll need to deliever.
Referees stole a field goal chance from BYU at the end of the half, too. Jacobson caught the ball and went out of bounds at the 33 with 2 seconds left. He was clearly on his feet all the way out of bounds, but the referee said he was down in-bouds and let the clock run out. Bunch of wimps just wanted to get into the warm locker room. If the Cougars lose by less than 3, that will be huge.
But, being up by 16 at the half bodes very well for the Cougars. How many games have they lost under Bronco after being up by 14 at the half? Exactly.
Does this mean that Oregon would only be second or third in the Mountain West Conference? I think the PAC ten is great but the top teams in the MWC are better this year.
I think this only strengthens the argument that TCU should be in the championship game.
Hall has made few mistakes. The D has played well. Hopefully there is not let down in the second half.
BYU coaches look like the really prepared for this game and the players are playing well.
My favorite play of the first half: of course, the fumble recovery for the touchdown.
But my second favorite play: watching Jorgenson chase Quizz Rogers down from behind and drop him for a loss.
Utah fan here.
BYU looks impressive. Offense, defense and special teams have come to play.
Also, Jacobsen was right, they were robbed at the end of the half---may have gotten three more. Even still, if BYU adds another TD here, it should be over.
What is Oregon State even doing here? The Cougs are having a good game. Max hasn't made any mistakes. But the Beavers aren't even putting up a fight! Now it's Hall to Pitta. Six more. Cancel the fourth quarter and get everybody out of the cold. Good job Cougs. Now, go Utes, Falcons and Frogs!!
BYU is actually out-coaching OSU! And it looks like no half-time adjustments by the Beavers. This games over. Congrats to BYU. Hope my Utes find similar success Wednesday night!
Close your eyes and pretend it's a BCS bowl game.
If BYU maintains the beatdown, they might sneak into the top ten (although the bowl is so early voters might forget).
If that happens and Utah beats Cal, all 3 Ute losses would have been against top ten teams.
1:54 left in 3rd quarter.
BYU has opened a big can of whup on what must be one the most over-rated teams BYU has played in a long time.
The only fly in the ointment is the very, very poor play of #4.
DROPPED PASS.
MUFFED PUNT.
LATE HIT PENALTY.
Nice job MAX.
Nice job Cougars.
Mr. 70% completions Canfield was pretty bad in the first half. He was only 1 for his first 7. He's approaching 50% now and is starting to get in a groove. But Hall has still played better to this point.
BYU definitely showed up ready to pay this game. Even after two abominable possessions to start the game that resulted in (-3) total yards, they didn't quit. An 84 yard drive and the fumble return for a TD gave them a huge boost to their confidence and Oregon St. has felt the pain.
The two 6 yard punts certainly helped out, too.
this is not the same oregon state team I have seen this season. They are playing like they don't want to be there effort wise. You can stop with the MWC being better than the pac 10. That would be assumed talk from BYU fans as you guys get even more ridicoulis.
[;ay like you wanna be in a bowl game. Or maybe play like you did against oregon or usc. This is a joke! Players don't wanna make plays and have no intensity or effort.
Good job Cougars. Get ready for the Non MWC fans to make excuses for the Beavers. Bottom line you are thumping them in every part of the game. Good showing for the conference. Hope the Utes can keep it up tomorrow.
Go Utes!!!
HAHAAHAAHA, really? They are beating your team up like chumps, don't start whining, it's really ridiculous. Go Cougs!!!!! Pac-10 is WEAK!!!!!
Oh, yes, here come the "they aren't playing like they want to be there" garbage. "If Oregon St. was playing like they wanted to be there, BYU wouldn't have a chance!" Just like Alabama only lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl because they "didn't want to be there".
Oregon State's body language was pretty good at the beginning of the game. Since BYU started smacking them down, though, they're increasingly looking more and more dejected. Fact is, BYU is just outplaying them. There are no excuses.
And Chambers has played worse than a rookie tonight. He doesn't have an excuse, either. I can't believe I defended the guy the other day.
Gotta stick with "byu blue" jerseys, please!
Boom! This game is over, was actually over in the first half. Cougs came to play and deserve RESPECT! Let's see how the Utes play tomorrow. OSU is weak, where were all the plays from the Rodgers brothers? They were gonna run roughshod over the Cougs right? 66 yds. combined, Pitiful. MWC deserves an automatic bid in the BCS, what a joke!
Yeah because Byu defense is so dominate they shut down teams all the time. Osu ain't making plays. Did you see Quizz drop that wide open pass for a Td? Canfield not amkaing throws. The guys played at a different caliber against usc and oregon and against cal. Look at their emotions here,it's like Oregon byu vegas bowl all over again. You don't know Oregon state football so do not comment on previous games, you don't know. Even the announcers are saying this is very uncharismatic of beaver football, I hope you at least heard that.
