Another Win - Hey Utes

No - not as pretty as the last win, but its a win. Hey utes - why dont you start bashing byu for barely beating a team they should have beaten by more?

Oh ya, that's right. Your team's goal is now trying to lose by as few as possible.

DE-FENSE

Anyone??? Anyone??? Wow- made for fun, but this is not how you win championships. Tyler Haws, plays like an all-star. 6-6 fg, 6-6 ft? 18 points.

Louisiana Cougar

Concerned about BYU's defense and rebounding -- and the fact that JT and CM have virtually disappeared. Thank goodness for Noah Hartsock.

Very impressed with the perimeter players and the foul shooting. Like the fact that most games turnovers are low . . . but we couldn't guard anybody against Nevada.

UNLV and New Mexico are playing superbly. The Cougs will have to ratchet their level of commitment up several notches to survive the MWC season. UNLV has a huge advantage for the tournament (but that's not news and is three months away).

Nba like game

"nba like game" - LOL
It is college b-ball and with everyone leaving early that is good, college is in the worst shape it has been in (as far as teams being good).

UNC vs Kentucky is not NBA like, this game is not even close to NBA like.

Go Cougs

Great game!...now let's follow it up with another great performance at the Vegas bowl!!! Go Cougs!

No defense

It's because all the shooters care about is scoring. Why you guys go on and on about JF and TH is amazing, their defense is awful! Nevada was leading at half because TH could not/would not guard his guy and he made a bunch of 3s!

And please don't comment on Utah, let's worry about our own team!

Haws is already a better player than Cummard, who was largely a disappointment at BYU. This kid can play.

Where was the defense?

BYU is lucky that Nevada could not hit their shots down the stretch.

The Pack was out hustling, out rebounding the Cougars.

It was amazing the lack of defense.

Sly

Not so fast on the Tyler Hawes band-wagon. For about every shot he made, UNR's Kreamer made one on his end when Hawes wouldn't close the space on him. The freshman can shoot, but right now he's also a defensive liability.

MN Blue

What an entertaining game! Way to go Cougs.

Hawes' Man Defense was great

Kraemer only scored those points shots when we were in zone in the first half. When we focused more on man in the second half, Hawes did fine and Kraemer did not score a single point.

MWC/WAC

This should quiet the debate about the WAC being better than the MWC. BYU is now 3-1 vs the wac all games played on the road against the WAC. With Wyoming beating Fresno St the wac is not looking very good in either sport. I will take any win on the road, stop complaning a win is a win and just a few years ago BYU could only win at home they have already won 3 road games this year.

NevadaCougar

All your talk about lack of defense is worthless.
The cougars played a good team that may not win their conference, but could win tournament games at the end of the season, that's because of Armon Johnson and Luke Babbitt. They are a good team. Tyler Haws played a great game and kept it close in the first half when he was hot. The team was great at the free throw line, and that's where the game was one. I'll take my cougars any day, as long as they play as a team as they are doing now! See you at the NCAA's this year--past the 1st round!

TheOfficialCall

I am quite impressed with the Free Throw shooting of the team this year. I will take Chris Miles being 3 for 4 any day, hope the Cougs can keep it going at the charity strip

BYU is now 1-0 when allowing 104 points.

Nice line Indy.

To: MWC/WAC

Uhmmm... BYU Played Fresno and Hawaii. Since it is obvious you are not up to speed on how good teams are let me explain. Fresno and Hawaii were the two bottom teams in the WAC last year. Nevada has a new coach and doesn't look to do too well this year. I would put BYU at about 3rd or 4th in the WAC in basketball based on what I've seen.

Re: To: MWC/MWC

You are off your rocker! The best team in the WAC is USU and they would finish 5th in the MWC. Based on what you have seen, I would say you are clueless about basketball

No way USU beats the Wolf Pack

Too athletic at the guards, and too strong and bulky inside. My money is on Nevada when those two teams play.

Eugene

Plenty of offense, tons of steals and no defense makes for a very entertaining game!

Cougars will have to play better defense to beat New Mexico and UNLV, but they have all the tools. Sure, JT has not shot well, but his defense needs more attention than his shooting woes. Too much matador defense by the Brazilian. He'll come through!

Go Cougs!
