Why doensn't the US government standardize a vaccination booklet for parents and physicians to keep track of vaccinations?

In Germany we all have an Impfpass which means Vaccination Pass that is the same all over the country and is filled out by the doctor's office staff every time any immunization is given.

When we moved to the US my kids' physician thought it was great that we had all of this information in one place and organized so neatly. She continues to make her own entries into our passes. When we return to Germany next year all our doctor needs to do is take a look at the pass to see that we are all up to date.

Different requirements

Each state has different requirements for 'up-to-date' inoculations. My son was up-to-date in Utah, but when we moved to Georgia, he had to get 2 more shots before he could attend school there.

If your child has attended school, then you can get their records from the Utah Health Department.
