Did this happen Friday or Saturday?
uuuhhh...the story states Saturday
All of Alta's chairlifts have no safely bars. Just only Alta. All other ski resorts...all chairlifts have safely bars without foot rest or with foot rest. I don't know why reason Alta has no safely bars.
I hope the girl is ok.
can you imagine how the adult female must feel? my heart goes out to their family :( I hope shes ok!
We hope the little one will recover.
We have ridden the chairs in the Albion Basin with children and grandchildren since 1966. We have had our struggles loading and unloading.
We have been blessed to have only those problems.
You can't blame Alta. They give you access to this lift for free. It's the only way I can afford to teach my kids to ski.
This adult female must feel horrible for letting this happen right in from of her.
My nine-year-old daughter and I got on the Sunnyside lift less than five minutes ahead of these people, I guess they would have been in line with us. But I always have my arm around my daughter on the lift. She is my focus. And certainly, a 4-year-old isn't mature enough to ensure their own safety on a ski lift, safety bar or not.
I don't mind taking my daughter into a somewhat risky situation because (A) the benefits are there, and (B) I am going to be right with her to ensure her safety. But if you are texting or just not paying attention, just don't take your kids into a risky situation.
Has there been any update on her condition?
The little girl was released from the hospital with only a minor concussion.
What about ski school. How do they monitor safetly when there is no bar?
