Good job Bingham.. #1 in football and #1 in Basketball.. keep it going and finish strong!!!

#1?

Bingham used to be #1 in basketball until they fell to the mighty OLYMPUS TITANS!

im no bingham fan, but that olympus game was a fluke

overrated

typical miller game

back to earth

jordan wertz game back down to earth

Dubach

Coach looked lost at the oly game but put together a great game plan against the Bengals. Maybe 4-A bball is better than 5-a this year. With all the kids avaliable to chose from at Bingham, how do they ever lose a game...MAYBE COACHING?

re: overrated

Miller needs to relax and have fun - let the game come to him vs. trying to do everything. His younger brother is not strong or big enough to play at the Varsity level - there's plenty of talented seniors and juniors on this team that are used to playing with each other - coaches need to go to them and this team will be just fine.

coaching

Quincy Lewis is the best coach at the high school level If Quincy had the talent that Brighton has he would not lose a game. He has the best guard in the state with Nick Emery Quicny has been known to start a few freshmen over the past years Haws and now Emery. There is know way that Quincy would play the younger miller brother Corbin however is a very good player and Quincy would love to have him on his team along with 3 or 4 other brighton players Brighton is very talented and should have never lost to Bingham. Watch out for Lone Peak they will be the talented Brighton team and win region 4 however Lone Peak will probably not win state this year.

Bingham/Basketball Fan

Don't take shots at either team. This was a battle and they are both great teams with great coaches.

RE: Dubach

How can you take shots at a coach that battles for the Region 3 and state title year after year. Got some personal feelings that come from other issues. Record says it all...

Vic Morrow

Nobody needs to feel bad for Lone Peak. Their guard line is top notch with Pederson and freshman phenom Nick Emery. Their big guys (Hamilton and Childs) are long and athletic. Lewis seems to have an unending talent supply down there. The super region is looking like it will provide some great games this season.

5a observer

i think both of these teams are overrated. I don't think either of these teams will win it all this year.

RE: 5A Observer

Where does this article talk about winning it all. They were just both ranked high and it was a good battle. Who cares about ratings, what matters is the rating the end of Feb 2010

Re: Coaching

What? I saw Brighton play, they live and die by their shooting percentage, just like Olympus did LAST year, Teams with solid attacks will be standing at the end of Feb. I saw the WJ vs Brighton game, and the point guard had the Brighton D running around in circles. Bingham deserved that win last night.

Just a Fan

I had a free night so I went over and watched my neighbors son play against Bingham. I am from Texas and High School sports are the real deal down in Texas. I must say that I was very impressed with all of the state championship banners hanging in the Bingham Field house. Very impressive tradition.

Kudos to Brighton Fans

Great to see a large contingency of Brighton students at the Bingham game! Keep coming out!

4A is better than 5A?

Here we go again. In football we heard the same thing for years about how TV was the BEST team in the state because they schedule a couple of UT county 5A cupcakes every year.

HERE ARE THE FACTS:
In football, it is no contest. 5A wins 2 out of every 3 games head to head going back years.

In basketball, it is a little closer, but just look at this year. 30-19 in favor of 5A.

Consider 4 of the 18 loses are from Roy, the worst 5A team in the state. Also consider Olympus has 4 of those wins and Lehi has 3 and both have lost to a 5A team. Provo, the best 4A team is 0-1 and soon to be 0-2 after tomorrow v Alta.

The Top 4A teams are just as good as the top 5A teams in basketball, just look at Olympus playing lights out v. Bingham. Provo beat LP 2 years in a row.

In football, the top 4A teams would NEVER go unbeaten (look at what Alta did to TV this year) in 5A.
