Before they get started...
Max went on for a couple of minutes, and later he apologized. Some of these folks have been going on now 3 weeks. They will keep on going.
And no one really cares what they think or say. They hated Max - he gave them an excuse.
Bottom line, winning D1 quarterbacks are not a guarantee, no matter how good the system, no matter how good the team. I remember being heart-broken that Shawn Covey didn't become the next Steve Young.
Sheide, Wilson, McMahon, Young, Detmer, Bosco (yes, he's the one with the NC ring), now Hall. If this is the beginning of a new string, he will be the first one in line.
And as competitive as he is, I think he will be please when the next quarterback out-shines him. That will take some doing, but I think it will be done.
of winning BUT more importantly not winning the big ones, sub par performances when it counted and horrible stats in big games.
Granted he won but that is more a credit to Pitta, Unga and his line. Max Hall if you rated him against other BYU QB's was certainly one if not the worst.
His ability to cave under pressure was second to none. Again he certainly won a lot but let's be honest Max Hall was a failure when you look at BCS and Bowl wins.
Later Max-some will miss you but I won't:) Bring on Heaps!
YEAH, HALL IS LEAVING A LEGACY.
A LEGACY OF HATE
Max Hall hates me and I'm proud of it. I'll never support a school that names it's Institute of Public Management after a man who hated Barry Goldwater.
After all the insults Utah fans have thrown at this guy over the past three years, he leaves beating the "greatest in their own minds" two out of three, three consecutive 10 win seasons all nationally ranked. That's one less that the U of U has done in all the years they have been playing football.
So brace for the onslaught of viscious attacks on this story, and wear those as a badge of honor.
I have loved watching BYU put the dagger in the hearts of the ute fans 3 of the past 4 years (and to all of you Ute literalists, I'm not talking about actual death).
As Bob Hope used to say, thanks for the memories, and remember that moment in the picture.
After reading the yewt comments, it appears Max was right!! Way to represent Yewt fans.
And the poster who was harping on Max's legacy . . . you don't watch much football, do you? "One if not the worst?" Are you kidding? I sure hope you are a yewt, because no Y fan can really be that dumb.
All Max Hall did was lead his team to Vegas. Yes he's had great numbers and most wins. But is that and 3 of 4 to Vegas how BYU defines success?
BYU reloads for Vegas.
Utah rebuilds for BCS.
Success at BYU today is defined as:
3 of 4 over your rival:
Harline is open ... to Vegas
4th & 18 ... to Vegas
George is running ... to Vegas.
Utah's success in no longer defined by just winning BYU. If our senior QB lead us to Vegas it would be good winning the MWC but it still would be disappointing year.

-----------------
Dagger would have been 3 of 4 to BCS but Vegas hmmm not so much.
I will remember him for the beat down he took at Utah which lead to thrashing of Bama.
3 of 4 to 2-3 in Vegas is not something to remember but to forget about quickly.
Max Hall has DEFEATED you with passes on 2 out of the last 3 games!
Yes, he made a bad decision in giving comments at the end of the last game but he APOLOGIZED which is more than we got from the Ute players that OPENLY made HATE comments to reporters.
Max, all the best to you in your efforts to play in the NFL. The Utes have written some of the most derogatory comments about you on this board. They ripped Austin Collie apart too. Hope you have the same kind of success in the NFL that he is having. Austin is getting the last laugh and STARTING on an undefeated Colts team.
Thanks for the memories of great BYU games!
QB with most wins in MWC history.
AND
4&18, George is still running, and win over 7-5 Oklahoma.
AND
A no show in big game blowouts: TCU, Utah, FSU, Arizona, and soon to be OSU.
"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it." - Warren Buffett -
It only took Max Hall two minutes to ruin his reputation and in the process establish a legacy that will live longer than the memory of any number of victories.
Funny he didn't mention how much he hates the Ute program for the donation we made in 2009 to his team.
As a die hard Ute fan Max Hall's legacy will be his hate speech about my alma-mater and the fact that he wasn't good enough to lead his teams in big games.
Hall also leaving number 1 on "classy quarterback" list.
"Yes, he made a bad decision in giving comments at the end of the last game but he APOLOGIZED"
He didn't not apologize he made excuses in a PR statement for his hate comments which were made an hour after the game.
A apology would have been something like what Tebow did after losing to Old Miss last year. Apologizing for letting his team down and then stepping up in big games.
I love you guys, though. And maybe Max is bitter because instead of thanking him for the help he gave you in getting to your second BCS game (the game would have been pretty close and BYU might have won if it wasn't for Max's six turnovers) you just mocked him and spat in his face. Oh well. I made fun of him too. Maybe in a few more years you can make another donation to BYU's program. I love you a lot (in a good, not creepy way).
Hall's legacy includes the fact that he picked a fight when he knew it was safe to run his mouth. Why didn't he publicly express his Ute hatred before the game?
Instead, he shoots off his mouth after the game, leaving the 2010 Cougars to fight his battle for him in September at RES.
BYU fans will always remember BJ's legacy as:
Leading his team to come from behind victories, thrashing BYU and Bama to 13-0.
Utah fans will always remember Hall's legacy as:
4&18 and George AND the hate speech to Vegas.
Notwithstanding the DN's best efforts to rehabilitate his image, Max Hall's legacy will have more to do with 31 seconds of hateful speech, than 31 victories.
What NFL team is BJ playing for?
