I live outside of the State, anyway it looks, from the local media and national media things are not looking to well for this young man. He had better start working with the police?
What father would take young kids camping at midnight in winter?
This guy reeks of being guilty. Camping with toddlers in well below freezing temperatures. Confusing days of the week and missing work. Wet spot on the carpet with fans blowing on them. Unhappy controlling relationship. House locked from the outside with her keys and credit cards on the inside. Not working for over a year and huge debt. And not cooperating in helping find his wife. A journal and friend documenting marital troubles. I'd be amazed if it turned out to be someone else. Sure, he'll get his day in court but things arent looking to good for him...
Say some prayers for this family and these kids.
Josh Powell is a suspect in this case, regardless of what the police are saying. There must be some legal reason that the police are forced to call him simply a "person of interest," because it is disingenuous to say he is not a suspect, that the wife's disappearance is being investigated as a crime, and yet nobody besides Josh Powell is being considered a "person of interest." OK, maybe he is not a suspect battling mounds of irrefutable evidence, but any husband who was known to be controlling and who mysteriously claimed to disappear on a sudden midnight camping trip with two young children is a suspect in my book.
Why won't he take the police back to his campsite?
Much restful thought to find out if Susan is Living.
I wish them much respectful thoughts.
For I never knew their family.
As I live in Area its hard to believe this has happen. And effected the Whole Community=amen=
If he has clammed up and lawyered up then they might as well arrest him. It is obvious what happened and everyone knows it.
re-read
Scott Williams is a brilliant CRIMINAL defense atty. Any bells going off yet? I assume a massive hunt for evidence is or will be mounted at the alleged "camping spot."
I wish the FBI would please get involved and get to the bottom of this mess.
The police aren't saying it but I speculate they are searching for a body. Very sad.
My prayers are with the family!!!
This article is inaccurate or at least misleading....
Kirk Graves is not Susan Powell's brother.
He is Josh Powell's brother in-law.
In other words.... Kirk is married to Josh Powell's sister. He has no blood relation to Susan side of the family.
Over the last several years, more and more people have been identified as "people of interest" rather than "suspects." It's the new fad phrase. (And then, even when people are caught on videotape robbing 7-11 and it is clear who they are, they are STILL called "suspects" rather than the perpetrators they really are. Give me a break! But that is an aside.) I don't recall a single case when a "person of interest" turned out NOT to become a suspect. I wish they'd just be honest and call them a suspect in the first place, as we all know they really are. Now I know someone will say that there really is a difference between "people of interest" and "suspects," and I'll admit that there might be a difference, theoretically. But in the real world, when I hear "person of interest" I think "suspect."
In many cases people are called a person of interest not because they are believed to be not guilty but just the opposite. My guess is the police do suspect him being involoved in his wife's disappearence. They probably lack sufficient non-circumstantial evidence to make an arrest and fear if they lable him a suspect he may be a flight risk. The scenaria painted by the police that any witness with information is considered a person of interest is probably true but you never hear about those "person's of interest" only the ones who fit the suspect lable a bit more than the neighbor who sees strange things happening out of the rear window of their home.
Of course his Brother in Law stood by him and held a press conference. It is a ruse to flush out the truth. He probably ended up telling his brother in law information and it was in turn passed on to the police.
Who goes camping at midnight in the middle of nowhere with kids?
Crazy people that do crazy things probably.

It's my understanding that Kirk Graves is Josh Powell's brother in law and not Susan Powell's which means that he would be married to Josh Powell's sister and not Susan Powell's.
Okay. I can think of a few alternate theories...
1. Susan is okay and in hiding. She wants to get back at him and figures hiding out and letting the police search for her is going to create enough grief in his life to be a wake-up call.
2. Susan ran off with some guy at work.
3. Susan was taken by somebody at work.
I wonder if police would consider deliberately misleading the public into thinking Josh was a suspect in order to flush-out the real suspect?
Obviously this poor man is innocent. I think everyone is on a witch hunt. Plus it isn't the cops business where he camps. Maybe he has a really cool spot that he doesn't want people bogarting? Ever think of that??? I don't think so.
