Go utes johnson is the man
What an awesome character, he is the perfect example of what hard work can do. He is an awesome example for kids growing up in hard times, and what they can do to be successful in life. What an awesome guy he will go far in life, helping others along the way. I love hearing these stories cause so often, people concentrate on the negatives. He along with Shaky Smithson are examples of positive people willing to make a difference and change their lives for the better.
I have loved watching Robert Johnson this year. He makes the game exciting. He has overcome tough situations through hard work and determination - what a great example for all to see.
According to Max Hall.
Great Story! I hope Robert gets picked up by a great NFL team. In the meantime, let the Cal QB know you're for real next week!
Oh and by the way, who cares what Maxie Hall thinks!
GO UTES!
Nice article about an even nicer young man! He is the prototype Whit recruit...great player, good student...better person! Thanks for being a big part of Utah's success! All Ute fan wish you the very best and we know we'll be watching you on Sunday!!
According to this Cougar fan Robert Johnson is a man among men. Congratulations to him on all facets of his life.
Grow up, get a life, and move on for crying out loud.
Great story! This is the positive aspect of collegiate sports which goes untold. This kind of story shows that opportunities are what people need, not handouts. Give a man a meal he eats one time... give a man an athletic scholarship and he just might make himself into an NFL player AND a degree holding criminologist who can contribute significantly to society.
I'm going to read this story to my kids....thanks for brightening my day. Classy article, classy Johnson, good press for collegiate athletics.
Yes, I can agree with Max Hall. Everything about the Utah football program is totally classless. Johnson shouldn't get such mention - only BYU deserves to.
Has been one of my favorite players, especially over the last two seasons. So dependable and you always end up thinking that RoJo is going to be the one to pull you out of a jam with a pick or a big play of some kind. He will be sorely missed and I hope he stays in Salt Lake.
The difference between Utah and TDS is that the zoobs get cool helmet stickers when they do this stuff. Why do they have to get stickers? Can't the act be enough of a reward, that's pretty superficial and typical bubble culture to try to be noticed for good works.
Thank you for publishing this inspiring story! A great reminder of what one man can do if given the opportunity.
RoJo is a great guy. He's overcome so much but hasn't let adversary slow him down.
Congrats on getting a degree.
He's a winner, AND he has maturity and sportsmanship, as opposed to some other guy in the state.
We were glad to have had you at the U. Thanks for representing us so well! Best of luck in the NFL.
Go Utes!
It was a pleasure watching Johnson play safety these past couple of years. He is a FANTASTIC football player and according to this article a great young man.
I'm sure he will have a lot of success in the NFL. I'm happy I don't have to watch him blast Unga again or anyone else for BYU!
Good luck Robert!
What a great example of those who give back to the community and give opprotunities that he may not have had.
Also, he is a great example of how someone can use athletics to propel himself in all aspects of his life.
hey losers. . . .26-23.
Great article. I didn't know anything about Johnson's personal life and it's great to hear such an amazing success story. I would not be surprised to see him playing on Sundays and hopefully he has a monster game against Cal. Either way, he's been a lot of fun to watch and he's done a lot for his team.
As for the Hall comments. I keep wondering when Yewt fans are going to stop embarrassing themselves by whining about Hall. He said he hates us "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" BYU fans didn't make a big deal about Alex Smith and Scalley's hate comments because we don't really care what Utah players think, but Utah fans whine about Hall on every Utah article. It's really kind of pathetic that you put so much importance in what a bitter BYU player said in a temporary moment of stupidity. At least try to pretend you don't care what Hall says so you can make it look like you care more about your team than hating BYU and hopefully maintain what little pride and self dignity you have left. Just a suggestion.
i think one of the zone 1280 guys said that johnson is good but he needs to learn how to hit if he wants to be in the NFL. as for me, he is very good. although George made him look bad in the last game and Unga ran him right over on his way to the endzone despite the huge loss the year before. nfl scouts will be watching that highlight.
