This whole event was tragic.
I feel that both young men were not adequately trained and that the fellow with Kingston Mine had tried to help Dave as best he could for the knowledge and training he did have. He was brand new to the job. The equipment was faulty.
Dave did the best he knew for the knowledge and training he had.
This is so sad and is repeated over and over again in the workforce, due to inadequate training and lack of safety procedures in the workforce.
Saturday marked the December 12th two year anniversary of Dave's death.
Kissing a headstone is just not the same as the four kids (one who was not yet born at the time of the accident) kissing Daddy or Layci kissing her precious Sweetheart. Or the broken heart of his mother and brothers and sisters and extended family.
Please, everyone....demand that in the workforce, you get adequate and required training and practice it.
All of this could have been prevented. It is a matter of life and death.
Nothing brings them back. Nothing can replace them. Nothing.
