The frustration has reached a climax.

I am sorry to report "great coaches" occasionally will lose a game like this even Phil Jackson. I guarantee over the years, the Jazz losses at home if you look back, more to garbage then good teams.

At what point, will Sloan ever be made responsible?

Look I know he tried like a devil to mix and match. I could not believe he got 10 in including Fez, I was hopeful. The 3rd quarter was terrible.

Millsap blocks, and baskets, DWIL play led us in that 4th quarter comeback. Still DWIL had problems with FLynn speed. Also, we were lucky to not be burned in the prior 2 minutes when Minnesota missed wide open 3s/

DWIl comes back to the basket then comes out too late and one of the guards hits an outside shot. DWIL is slow with rotation and anticipation.

I also find fault with Okur. If you are quick and understand the game, he moves quicker and anticipates Flynn beating DWIL so he can get on him at least foul him or make him force up a shot.

Jerry tried but left ineffective Matthews and Brewer out too long. Korver also

The only reason you miss free throws at home is that you are mentally AWOL! And, getting out rebounded is about a lack of heart! Absolutely embarassing how Williams gets schooled by Flynn...maybe you should show up for practice!!! Don't embarass yourself in Jersey. We're going to support at the Izod and since were showing up, we expect you to show up as well!!!

BOOOOO!!!!!!

Jerry's Horrible Subs

Just heard jerry's typical blah blah blah - the same stuff we hear after every loss. When will he take accountability for the lousy coaching and his substitutions tonight?....Kyle Korver, who can't cover his shadow, goes from not playing all season to being on the floor at the end of a key game?!?!?? You gotta be kidding me!!!

Sloan coaches best when he has 7-8-or 9 healthy players. He's worst when everyone's healthy and his sub pattern goes helter skelter. Why in the world did Matthews get his minutes cut? He's been a beast for us, but instead tonight he sits as Korver is out on the floor getting beat as their 2 guards repeatedly slash to the hoop! You thought KK was a defensive liability last year? Wow, tonight he made last year look like he was the devensive MVP. Sloan needs to play Matthews, plain and simple.

The rotation:

Not everyone is going to be happy. This is the problem with gluts of 2s and 3s that are largely interchangable.

Fez was not perfect. Still he changes the look. Sloan is going to really have to work on this issue of mixing and finding combinations.

The thing is the Jazz seem to do better with 9 or 10 trusted guys over this full roster stuff.

That is why this team cannot continue in its present state. Next offseason, some tough decisions are to be made. Frankly, Kirilenko, Okur, Korver, Miles, Brewer they should all at least be looked at for possible trade to improve this squad...

Sloan deserses to be fired

and that should have been 2 years ago.

1. The Jazz played all night at the Wolves pace. Sloan did absolutely nothing to change that.

2. The Jazz did not run the offense. Sloan did nothing to change that.

3. Part of the team played defense part of the time. Sloan basically ignored that and ran his set rotations.

4. Sloan played Korver all night in spite of the fact it was obvious Korver was not ready. Korver played okay defense. He clanked a lot of shots.

5. The Jazz got out rebounded badly. Sloan made no adjustments and frankly did not make adjustments for the fact that the Jazz were clanking jump shots all night. If you are going to shoot outside you have to have plays that put rebounders in place and have people back who can stop the fast break.

I do not want to hear the lame excuses. Sloan did not take this game seriously and that sent a message to the players.

Mathews had an off night so did Korver. Sloan played them anyway.

Millsap had some awesome blocks. BWill played well in the first half but made bad decisions in the second.

I don't understand the Jazz!! How do they beat ORlando and the Lakers at home and then turn around and lose to one of the worst teams in the NBA??? Rebounding was awful and defense was like it always is.........awful. And why was the last play designed to be a long trey? Couldnt we have gotten a closer shot and looked to just tie it? Absolutely horrible loss!!!!!!!!!

classic jazz

jazz beat lakers and then this. williams is still the man though

Kidding me!

You have got to be kidding me. Losing at home to the T-wolves...what an embarrassing performance defensively. Leaving 16 points on the free throw line didn't help much either. Holy moly!

Robbie

Lack of effort on defense, missed foul shots, lack of focus. Seen it too many times. Williams could not keep Flynn out of the paint, Boozer, Millsap, Fesenko and Memo could not man up and get the boards against Minnesota's front line. It is a nauseating feeling to lose against a pathetic team at home much less. Sacramento, Oklahoma City, Minnesota, and depleted Houston team. The Jazz have blown 4 games, and yeah, come April, that will change things. The Jazz will finish around the 46-48 win mark and come in as a 7 to 8 seed. 4 or 5 losses could be the difference between 7th and 4th in the west.

todd: reality? hope not

Wednesday prediction:

Jazz 91
New Joisey 98

I am angry

I really am. How many times have we put up with this. This is clearly Sloan's doing or lack of it. He is supposed to manage the game and the play of the players. He did not. He cared more about his rotations and players getting time than winning this game.

He deserved to lose it. The fans did not deserve the garbage coaching they get out of Sloan and have gotten for years. It is the same old garbage for lack of a stronger word.

AK played well. Millsap played well. Boozer and DWill had spectacular moments. Brewer played pretty well. Fez played well.

Sloan could have played the right combinations and buried the Wolves early. Instead he worried about his rotations and getting Korver minutes.

Play to win. I am sick of the Jazz. They are like a cheating wife. You can't trust them. You can't have faith in them. The stench starts at the head. If the coach does not play to win the players know it immediately.

Don't tell me there is not a better coach out there. Harp made comments during the broad cast. It was obvious he is better.

LAME!!!!!!

I'm sorry but I get tired of a team that can be the best in the league but is now 0-4 against the T-Wolves, Kings, and Thunder and three of those games were at home!! It gets old Jazz, come on!!! I was unable to watch but it look like Deron was the only one who showed up tonight?

Robbie

Remember when Reggie Theus coached Sacto and before beating the Jazz in SLC he mentioned to his team that the Jazz were soft and all they had to do to beat the Jazz was attack the paint? Well, I think Theus has relayed that message to Rambis. Minnesota killed Utah in the paint. And let's rewind to the last defensive play. The isolation came, why did Deron and Memo EVER allow that pick to take place???????????????????????????????? If Williams shifts and takes the angle away as Love is getting there, it disrupts the play. The Jazz just laid back and let Minnesota dictate the play. Good heavens I only played a year of Jc college ball and that was one of the biggest defensive drills we worked on, taking away an angle for the pick and roll. I am so beyond frustrated. The Jazz are so much better than this. By the way, where was CJ? When we needed outside shooting, why put in a rusty Korver, or a struggling Matthews after the numbers CJ has put up of late? Geeeeeez. Where is the ESA magic of not losing at home? Now Sac, Minn, OKC, have won here?? What?

Xente

Are you freaking serious Okur? Nice effort on that last one! DWill probably felt okay letting Flynn drive because Sap was blocking everyone and guarding the paint. Maybe he didn't anticipate Okur standing and watching. I'm so done with his cheese. He's the main problem for the Jazz. He can shoot 3s, whoopdedoo. Trade him for nothing, cap space, 2nd round draft pick, I don't care.

todd from santa ana

But But is not Sloan as good as Jackson? Popovich?

hee hee

Utahkoke

T-WOLVES....LAST team of the WEST....HOW????? AT HOME....WITH EVERY PLAYER!!!

The Players are at fault

for not running the offense and not rebounding. However, the coaches are at fault for not forcing the players to run the offense and rebound.

George Karl would have benched a bunch of them and put in players who would run the offense. Sloan just worried about getting everyone in the game regardless of how they were playing.

Sloan would make a great church ball coach. A great time was had by all.

Fire Sloan and get a real coach. One that will play to win instead of worrying about rotations and playing time.

I don't care how many years Sloan has coached and how many wins he has or if he is HOF. I know bad coaching when I see it.

This would get most High School coaches fired. Sloan has been pulling it for years with impunity.

It will never end. I am sorry I waste time and emotion on the Jazz. They will never change until Sloan is gone. Everyone who knows anything about basket ball knows Sloan is a bad coach. But the pundits and press all talk about how good he is.

His players are better than he is. Get a coach and win.

Br21

Well Robbie, you are right, that last play was not defended well. What was their center doing not bothering the shot though? Every team gets in the paint at Will against the Jazz. I think defense is the biggest problem for the Jazz.

Where's Jerry's Passion?????

I think you hit the nail on the head...Sloan was more worried about Korver's PT than winning this game? Did you see the post-gam interview w/ Sloan? Where's the fire and the passion that made Jerry such a great coach??? Unfortunately, it was no where to be found -- something I think the players have picked up on.

btw, Deron, you'll never be an all-star until you become a consistent FT shooter. You gotta hit those freebies!
