Of course Bronco is a football savy, down to earth, tough nosed competitor.... he's a Beaver!!!!! Way to go Bronco. I am rooting for your (our) alma matter in this one, as are you I'm sure. Should be a great game. Jaquiz Rodgers is healthy and ready to run, and Steven Paea (best DL in the Pac) is ready to get after Hall. Join with me Bronco.... OOOOOOO, SSSSSSS, UUUUUUUU, Oregon State, Fight Fight Fight!!!! Go Beavs.
Bronco has exceeded everyones expectations and we all hope he sticks around for some time.
The Cougar faithful are grateful that other guy passed up the job, wow what a blessing in disguise.
See you in Las Vegas you better bring it because as you will learn quickly Sam Boyd is BYU's second home.
Great article.
I think both Bronco and Whittingham were good fits for their respective schools. I'm glad we have Bronco and I'm sure Utah is grateful for their coach as well.
Keep up the good work. Learn, adjust, learn, adjust. All signs of a quality coach.
Yes, and just their 1st home is where this group loses the big games with Maxie at the helm.
Bronco has brought stability to the program. Now we need marked improvement. 10-2 4 years running. I applaud him for that. A little fine tuning this thing and run 11-1 for a few years would be better than 12-0 one year 8-4 the next. Yes it is obvious that Bronco's mark is on this program.
It's a win/win for Bronco. If the Beavers win he'll be happy (deep down). I suspect if OSU offered Bronco the head coching job he would drop BYU like a bad habit.
Bring your A Game, Cougs and bring home a victory! Best of luck in Vegas, BYU!
no person in oregon reads a utah newspaper you imposters!
I hope BYU is focused on winning this game instead of the traditional attitude of "it's a family vacation".
College Football Live said Bronco is the number 1 UNDERPAID coach in college football. Give the man a raise!
I see this Las Vegas bowl as more of a repeat of the game three years ago against Oregon. BYU is playing another overrated team from the PAC-10 and the Cougars are hungry for a win.
Bronco is a devoted leader for the BYU team and we should all be supporting him 100%.
Cougars are MWC number 2, but at least they had fun.
By George, he is still running! And one more thing...SCOREBOARD. Now go back to your basement and keep watching ESPN...over and over again.
Bronco is THE man! @11:41 p.m. says... "The Cougar faithful are grateful that other guy passed up the job, wow what a blessing in disguise."
Yeah right... Cougar fans would have hated going undefeated and destroying Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
Gosh he's just so neat.
Bronco is a good coach and he will rack up a lot of wins during his career but the reality is the sports nation cares more about what bowl games you get into and not that you are consistently 10-2 and go to Vegas Bowl every year. But I want to see the Cougs in a BCS game and 10-2 just isn't good enough for me.
Consistency isn't always a good thing and I personally would take a trip to the Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, if it mean the next year having to go through a 8-4 season with a trip to the Poinsettia Bowl.
No question he is a good guy and a good coach. Now, can he become a Big Game coach? That hasn't be demonstrated yet. Now would be a good time to start.
Actually, I'd take 8-4, 9-4, 10-3 etc if it meant 13-0 every few years and a BCS victory anyday! Those Utah though will be 10-3 this year, and the sorry cewgs will be 10-3, too. So I'd trade the 1 additional win each year for what they have accomplished.
I'm not a huge Bronco fan although he has brought some credibility back to the program. After Oklahoma I thought this could be the year he turned it all the way around but proved (once again) to be a one-hit-wonder. He's great when he has all summer to prepare for a big game but seems to have trouble on a week to week basis. Getting blown out to a mediocre Florida State team at home is inexcusable. TCU was definitely the better club but the Cougs weren't even competitive..again at home. We had the same problem last year (anybody see a pattern here?)
My suggestion would be to squelch all the pre-season slogans and hype and just play ball.
Hopefully Bronco will continue to evolve as a coach because he won't be truly validated until he gets that BCS monkey off his back.
