Barkley is correct unfortunately. Can the jazz trade him, kirilinko and okur for Bosch?
are you buying power tools or are you talking about chris BOSH
Are you kidding, Barkley's comments were some of the stupidest things ever said on TNT.
He's always right!
Brandon Bass is available. He wants out of Orlando. He plays very good post defense. If you get rid of Miles or Korver for Bass he would give us a good backup Center for this year and also provide a good backup to Milsap/Okur once Boozer is gone. I would be surprised if the Jazz trade Boozer because of his play lately. I would also be surprised if he signs with the Jazz again after this season. The Jazz are in a tough spot here but I think we could get someone pretty good for him. The Jazz aren't going to win it all this year so they might as well deal him and get better for the future.
The Jazz need to keep Kirilenko. I'm sure even he knows that no matter where he goes he's going to take a huge cut in pay. He is a momentum changer. He is long, but quick. I'd love to get Bosh for Boozer and someone else, though.
Barkley claimed Boozer's teammates are going through the motions because Carlos will not be back next year. Seriously, who thinks that Millsap, Williams, Matthews, etc are just going through the motions? That's nonsense.
TNT is classless. Barkley is classless.
Ernie was the only one that was reasonable. Boozer has been playing his best basketball this year.....How is this a distraction?
chuck said what he said, the fact is, he doesn't know whats wrong with the jazz team, so he just said something; it could have some relevancy, but free agency has been around for awhile, its not the issue chunk makes it out, i don't know.
It's just a small distraction for the most part, but the fact is and I guarantee you that Booze will not sign here next year, he is playing for a new contract elsewhere which is fine because thats what all of these NBA ballers do in contract years. It's up to Jazz management to decide if they want to let him walk or get something for him. I personnally would monitor the next 1 1/2 months very closely too see if there isn't something to be worked out with a multi team trade that would benefit us as well as others. We have a glut at the 2-3 positions, a couple of centers that are not being used, a couple draft picks,(it looks like NY's isn't going to be very high now) and a couple foreigners stashed overseas, so we can rock and roll some regarding trades that can improve our long range plan.
Boozer is not part of our future. Trade him before he gets hurt.
Anything Barkley says is usually for entertainment purposes and not to state facts. The main concern for the Jazz right now isn't Boozer's future, leave that to the front office, it's winning on the road. Unless they figure out how to dominate on the road like they do at home, it will be a short playoff run.
I think Barkley's comments are reflective of an amateur analyst who has not kept up with the team. His comments were stale and just convenient fodder as way to defend why he had counted out the Jazz.
Really with Barkley's behavior last year, he really is not worth even a moments ponderance of his complete ignorance.
Sorry to say but Barkley is right, Booz is gone, he knows it, we know it, the Jazz know it. If Booz had any loyalty or heart like Malone he could be a hallf of fame type player with the Jazz. He has D Will to help him look good here and he is with a successful, stable franchise, that is if he stays healthy though....
Barkley is right on with his Boozer Jazz take. The "Jazz do go through the motions" and have done so the last two years.
The Jazz have a ton of talent but shaky chemistry exists. Why else would the Jazz constantly underachieve? Their not a young inexperienced team anymore.
Something else to look at with the Jazz: home vs. road records. It's telling! The talent on the Jazz might just need ESA to bring it out. The Jazz win a lot of games at ESA and have been great there for three decades. The Jazz road status flat out stinks.
Why so bad on the road? The Jazz get out on the road, perhaps struggle bonding and then lack fire on the court. Maybe, with no home crowd encouraging them, the Jazz talent never surfaces because this team has issues with each other.
Sloan's system comes in question as well. Jerry has always coached real solid home teams, and rarely produced road winners (minus a couple of seasons in 22 years). Many teams lose regularly on the road. But with 20+ playoff appearances under Sloan with bad road teams says something.
Why are we still bashing Carlos Boozer around? It's the season upon us now, why do we worry about next season and Boozer maybe being GONE? He's playing good right now, you can't fake that.
If we have to have something to pick apart, why not Paul Milsap. His numbers are down this season and this after getting a big paycheck from the Jazz. Want something to cry about? Milsap is something. Is he going to turn out to be one that is gonna rest on his money and coast?
i dont think its bashing boozer to state the facts charles stated the truth and we all know it. do you think its surprising that everybody knows boz wont be here next year? even if jazz wanted him they caint afford him unless they get rid of half the team then who is going to play def. no reason to get mad at charles fr stating the truth. i been saying the same thing for weeks but no one payed me.
The elephant in the room is of course injury. Karl Malone went off so many times in the off season with classless remarks or brinkmanship for better contracts, but come the season, he played every game, injured or not, delivering 20 and 10.
I love the way Booze is playing right now. Remember how awesome her started last year? The year before? The it happened, injury. I have this bad feeling we are going to hit late January or All-Star break, and it will be a tweaked knee or a pulled hammy. It will roll out for a few weeks, day to day, "I will be back soon", but he wont, or he will come back right before the playoffs and be a stink bomb in the team chemistry again.
Love him or hate him, Malone showed up, 20 and ten, every year...
I personally think Boozer will play elsewhere next year, but to say that his play has been up and down this particular season doesn't make sense. He's been playing pretty well lately, but I think it's more because he just wants to raise his pricetag when someone else comes along with negotiations next year.
I'm pretty sure barkely isn't aware of the jazz salary situation as i am, and its not ruled out that the jazz couldn't give boozer a contract if they wanted to.
