This morning I was about to get on the freeway in Layton. I was waiting for the light and around the corner comes a whole line of Police cars with lights and sirens going. I didn't know what was going on at first and then I realized it was Shop With a Cop. It just made my day start off right. Way cool to everyone who helped with this and the Police who take their time to shop.

I am one of the Bonneville High Officers that was lucky enough to be there wrapping presents. This was one of the coolest experiences ever! It really kicked off the Christmas spirt and made all our Sub for Santa efforts worth it!!!

Hey, guess what D-news? They had one in Utah County at the Spanish Fork K-mart with 143 kids and 131 officers. 22nd straight year for the program. You do cover south of Salt Lake don't you? Nonetheless, this is a fantastic program and allows a child and the officer to have some fun, and make a new friend. My hat is off to everyone invovled in this program!

It is amazing....

It is amazing what people can do when they group together to help others. In the case of Bonneville High School, it is a total group effort by the entire studentbody. The students who donate their own money and time are the ones who make programs like "Shop with a Hero" successful. What wasn't mentioned in the article is the fact that not only does Bonneville High help fund the majority of the "Hero" program, but they also contributed $3,000.00 to the "Shoes for Tots" program, which provides shoes and socks for individuals who wouldn't be able to afford and new pair of shoes. The Bonneville officers and studentbody need to know that their community appreciates all that they have done in the past five years. Their support of programs, which allow local residents to experience a bit of financial relief, is a commendable example of what can be done if you really want of help others. Thank you Bonneville. Your community appreciates you!!
