Just go back to being royal blue and give up the navy blue. Be true to yourself and your roots. Absolve yourselves of the Nike-driven change to navy blue and reclaim your royal blue heritage.

I love the royal blue jerseys. I wish they would go back to them. When the sun hits them just right it's breathtaking. Plus, it's much easier to spot the fans wearing royal blue in the stands than the navy blue. With the utes' red, we need something brighter to counter it.

Royal Blue is BYU BLUE. The Navy uniforms are boring, dull, drab. Let the fans wear navy if they want -- feature our team in ROYAL BLUE.

It was cool to see them wear the royal blue against Utah, but the dark blue just looks so much better.

While a fitting tribute, the royal blue is ugly. Stick to the current colors.

Hey, Boobie, that's your opinion. I LOVE the Royal Blue... more precisely the color wheel shows it as BYU blue. Skip the Aggie dark blue.

Come on folks. The Royal Blue was great, back in 1984, and it was cute for the rivalry game, but let's get back to reality shall we? The navy blue is much, much more modern looking and looks sharp, and the royal blue too often fades and looks like purple.

It was fun for a while, but let's please get back to reality.

In college sports, there are currently a few distinct blues:

Navy, Carolina, Duke.

Years ago there was another one: BYU.

It's time to reclaim that color and drop the dark blue that is so common.

I've never seen a sharper looking uniform than the old royal blue's. The contrast between that deep sky blue and white had a crispness that couldn't be matched. I loved them back in the day, and I loved watching them revive it for the U game.

Problem is the royal blue is a tough color for fans to wear and accessorize with. It doesn't match with much. For BYU to market clothing lines the fans will wear, they made the move to the darker blue. I remember them calling the current blue..."the deepest shade of sky blue there is" lol

Royal blue is best for special occasions ONLY. Our current blue is the original BYU blue.

utah state already has claim to the dark blue. be original. stick with the royal blue.

I suppose its a matter of preference. My preference is for the football team to wear the Royal Blue of the 70-90's. That would be a return to tradition. Those colors reflect the winning tradition at BYU, when Sheide, Nielson, Wilson, McMahon, Young, Bosco, Detmer, and Sarkisian all played. That Royal Blue stood out and was identifiable with BYU football.

As a fan wearing BYU gear, I much prefer the current dark blue. Just an opinion.

I forgot how great the royal blue looked until they wore them again in November. Bring them back! For Good!! Forever! Have the team wear royal blue the fans Navy blue.

I am a die-hard Utah fan. I hate absolutely everything abou BYU. But i will admit, the royal blue uniforms looked alot better than the navy ones. And I think they should switch back permanently.

I thought the change to Aggie blue was an answer to prayers. Which of you ROYAL SUPPORTERS also want to buy and wear royal hats and shirts? Me? Never ever.

You can thank Val Hale for the navy blue uniforms it's just too bad he was more concerned with BYU fashion design than running the sports department. They went back to the block Y, now dump the navy blue and give the Aggies their own colors.

If I want to dress for success I will wear dark blue. If I want to show that I am a B.Y.U. fan I would prefer the royal blue that a tradition was built on.
(As a big Tar heel fan as well I would never change from Carolina blue.) I imagine that it is all about merchandise sales for B.Y.U.. At least the old letter "Y" helmets are back.
