Good for Hot Rod!
Hot Rod! I hope he's enjoying the warmer weather in Phoenix and LA.
i hope hot rod gets confused while doing the play by play and thinks he's covering the jazz instead of the lakers. that would be hilarious. hahaha.
It will be good to hear "real play by play or even as analyst with Joel Meyers"
I know who I will be listening to Saturday
Rod has always had a heart for the Lakers and certainly understandable. I almost wish he would have stayed even doing just home games but I hope the greatest is enjoying retirement.
Great for Hot Rod! If only he was still with the Jazz, radio would be much better.
wish he'd come back. locke is a good radio talk show host, but a terrible play by play announcer. can't stand to listen to the games anymore.
1) Can anyone just retire, or do they all have to go to the Lakers?
2) Maybe Fes is "sick" of sitting on the bench...
We need Hot back. David Locke is horrible. Bolerjack and Boone are two of the best broadcasters for the opposition. They are bankwagon analysts/commentators. Can't the Jazz get somebody to come to Utah? It's just like no one wants to play for or live in Utah. Come on man!
Can we trade Locke for Hot Rod? David Locke has to be the WORST play by play guy in the league. Locke gets confused about if he is doing radio play by play or he talk show.
gets to call games for a winner.
It would be nice if the Jazz had a good radio play by play person They don't have one now
Best of the best!
Any chance the Lakers will take David Locke instead?
Locke is a good talk show host but his radio play-by-play is nearly unlistenable. Not sure why they can't do the simul-cast like they used to...
I've always enjoyed Hot Rod, I really like Bollerjack, I loved hearing Harpring doing color and I think Boone needs to retire. I like Boone but I don't think he adds much to the game. If anyone is ever confused, it is Boone. His overstatements of the obvious are really quite anoying sometimes. Locke is new at this and I believe he is doing a great job, has great enthusiasm and will get better over time. Bollerjack was long overdue to do this.
I like Locke as a play by play man. I think Hot Rod is great but Locke does a good job. He'll improve and get better over time just like anyone doing a new job. You critics would bomb too if it was you at the mic. Give him a chance and stop cutting everyone down.
I'm sure Hots will be happy to be behind a mic again and I agree with the prior post.. it would be great if he slipped up and forget who his audience was.. would love to hear him call it from a Jazz perspective.
TRAITOR! I guess his tenure here was just another job. And just when you think it's not all about the money. Sad!
The NBA does not allow teams to simulcast anymore. The Jazz were the second to last to break theirs up. Seattle was last.
Locke thinks he is doing tv and not radio. If I could see the game, then his comments work. He is doing radio though, and most of time I had no idea what was taking place.
Locke is so bad I charged a television to my wife's credit. She will refuse to pay for it so it will be repossessed. I can only hope they don't take it away until the Jazz season is over. If the Jazz keep Locke I am going to have to go back to work.
Locke is horrible. His nasally voice grates on the ears and he can't seem to call the game without throwing in all his annoying statistical analysis. When I listen to the games, I want the guy to paint me a verbal picture ot what is happening on the floor, not drone on about what percent of the time someone is scoring in the paint versus taking outside shots.
