My thoughts and prayers go out to the Derrick extended family. But, no picture to remind readers what Elder Derrick looked like? Certainly there's at least one picture available.

Having had the privilege to serve in the England Leeds mission under President Royden G. Derrick, made that experience one of the most wonderful, memorable, and inspiring events of my life.

Not only was President Derrick a man of vision, integrity, and humility, but his ability to excite and build character was second to none.
The leadership lessons that the President would teach us, motivated all of us to be better in everything we did. His kind, gentle, loving example inspired everyone to work harder and reach further in attaining our true potential in this mortal life.

Joined the church 25th Jan 1974 Met President Derrick 27 Jan 1974 Liverpool Chapel. Bless the day President Derrick told Sister Lange Pilz - keep her busy. I am grateful for the great example President & Sister Derrick have given me over the years. He also saw the best in me. Both President & Sister Derrick adopted me like parents. Thanks for the Memories. My Heart and prayers go out to the family.

As mission President in England, President Derrick admonished us to live our lives with exactness, in other words do everything in life with integrity and excellence. His life was a sparkling example of how to live with exactness. He will always be a guiding example in my life and Im sure the same is true for the thousands he touched in his journey through life

As I served as the Church's General Counsel Orient, it was my great privilege to have my office adjoining Roy Derrick's. We had daily interaction. Anytime I needed advice on any topic, Roy was always there with awesome wisdom. His boyish smile and quiet soft-spoken demeanor was all rooted in his humility. If there ever was a guileless man...it was Roy Derrick.
