Wow! What a fantastic 3 point shooter this guy is! If he's ever available the Jazz should consider adding him to the team.
I would bet that 1/2 of the players in this league have their carreer high in points against the Jazz. It's the defensive philosopy dummies no more nothing less.
Could`nt we have somebody, anybody guard this clown??? I`m sure Sloan wasn`t saying,oh just let him shoot,he won`t make em,come on Jazz this guy had a career night, you guys are KILLING ME,we were very lucky he missed that last shot
Bonner comes to play. He's fun to watch.
Over to the right is the picture of Okur actually blocking a shot. Good thing they captured it on film--it will be the last.
See the look of awe on Duncans face?
He is just as stunned Okur actually raised his hand and his body left the floor as normally he shoots over Okur uncontested.
Seriously though, did Okur do something superhuman in that instance?
No--just a little effort and look what result he got. Its not like Duncan jumps like Brewer and he is unblockable.
Even if Okur made the effort to bother the shot it would yield more misses. Normally he never leaves the floor and his hand is about 5 feet from Duncan and we know how he has been dominated by Duncan in the past.
There is simply no reason Okur could not make more effort like this. If he won't then put Fess in until he fouls out.
We simply will never win until Okur and Boozer commit to not be such patsies on defense. It simply just won't happen.
Matt Bonner almost single handedly beat the jazz at HOME.
This road trip will be ugly.
On the upside, Wes Matthews is coming along nicely. Lets hope he isn't let go in the future to make salary cap room.
Not good enough. Go Jazz.
We just beat the Spurs for the third time this year and all you can talk about is how bad the Jazz played. They beat the Spurs, a good team and normal title contender, and you are all dissing on them. Boozer is playing good basketball and was the Western Conference Player of the Week last week. Now quit talking bad about him. I know in the past he hasn't hustled but he is looking better out there. He had one move in the post that I was really impressed with. He caught the ball and didn't hesitate one bit, he caught it, turned, and finished all in one motion. He didn't take time to gather himself. I was impressed by it. By being a fellow post player I was impressed by his good footwork on that play. Good Win Jazz and way to start of a tough week.
You want the 4th or 5th option guy to have to beat you in a game. That means you're taking away the superstars and their ability to takeover the game. You live with a Bonner having the game of his life because you don't game plan for him and you certainly don't ever expect him to have the kind of performance he did last night. That philosophy helped the Jazz beat the Spurs last night, albeit in a close contest. If a guy like Bonner happens to beat you with that last shot, kudos to the Spurs for having that sort of depth to have guys outside their big-3 step up and win a game for them. The Jazz took away Duncan, Parker and Ginobili on that last set and it won them the game.
If Fes would have played 10 to 15 minutes last night Bonner would have had at least 8 less points. Our over all team defense is far better when he is in the game.
"Bonner has big night" That's what she said!
I think the Jazz were busy trying to stop Tim Duncan, Manu and that little French point guard. I would leave Bonner open before leaving those guys open.
why leave Bonner open? has he not burned us "enough" times?
You guys are clueless
