CL

Mathews looked great and should keep his starting spot as long as he keeps playing as well as he is. Love his Defense.
CJ looked terrible, that was probably to be expected but still he looked lost, slow and shot terrible. Let's hope it doesn't take him to long to get back to where he was before he got hurt.

Difficult Win

The Jazz are back to shooting 40% mainly because they stopped going inside in the second half. Pacers disrupted the PG play. Neither DWill nor Maynor had a good night.

Boozer played great offense but his man got a lot of outside 3s. That might be asking a lot of Boozer to go out that far.

Mathews/Boozer carried the team. Mathews was impressive. Millsap did pretty well.

It will take time for AK and CJ to get back into good playing form.

Hopefully there is enough depth to beat MN tomorrow.

I think the Jazz moved into 2nd in the NW and 5th in the W.

The Pacers started playing D and the Jazz started playing the Pacers game. The Jazz have to have a good inside game to win. Outside shooting opens up the inside but the attack still has to be primarily inside.

W is a W. Sign Mathews to a multi year contract. He is going to be a very good player.

RE CL

I agree.. He had that deer in headlights look. He is in a tough spot. Matthews is going to be hard to beat out. He made a statement tonight.. Says a lot about the kid.

I think it is time to make a trade.. Lets mix it up a bit and see if we can take it to that next step. I am not being negative but some of these guys are giving all that I think we are going to get out of them. I am not holding my breath for the breakout.
Lets bring in a PROVEN vet that can help us....

There is probably no need

to make a move until nearer the deadline. You can't get the best player until another team decides they are not going to make the playoffs.

The only hole on this team is the defense at 4/5. Even if the Jazz are willing to trade Boozer, who can you get to replace him?

Beasley has looked very good lately but I doubt if MIA will let him go. CHI wants to move Thomas but I am not sure he is the answer in the longer run.

Harp can be packaged with one of the 2/3s for a very good PF/C later this year. Having too many good bigs is like having to much money. I would really like to have that problem.

I think the Jazz keep everyone unless they get a very compelling offer. They may trade Harp for salary reduction. I think they can get a credit that is good for a year.

The best situation would be for Boozer to play defense. However, he has faded or been negated in the playoffs for the last 2 years.

The way Mathews is playing I really don't care much about a VET.

I agree

I think we have found our stride. But we need to bring in one more player to get us over the hump. Miles, Harprings contract, and Koufos(face it he stinks) could make for enough bait to get someone. I would personally like to make a bid for T-Mac. He is someone who would take a lot of pressure of our guards and forwards. Because he is an excellent shooter can make plays with the ball in his hands. But I don't think Sloan would go for it. But we do need one more piece to the puzzle.

todd from sa "THE CJ MIRACLE"

Hee Hee. Yes, 1 game. Let us see 0-3 0-2 on 3s (he had to just take those 2 3s of course...) and 1 rebound in 10 minute, mahvellous.

This helps Makes Sloan decisions easier on playing time

MATTHEWS IS COMING UP HUGE FOR US

He is playing defense

Now we do not need DWIL to score lights out every night. Twice DWIL has not shot well recently and we still won both games. MATTHEWS is a huge key and at least I am happy the 12-13 players here ARE TALENT WISE BETTER THAN ONE YEAR AGO.

Would Knight have had 6 assists in 14 minutes like Eric?

I do not care Eric could not make a basket-6 assists.

Millsap excellent., Boozer has been incredible in his turnaround and his effort has improved all around greatly. Contract year or not who cares..

TRADES: GIVE UP

You know O COnnor will do nothing why ask?

At this point, I said it before, would not trade Boozer at deadline now even if you could. Might as well keep the whole season now.

Food for Thought AGain:

Chris Bosh is very frustrated

ESPN REPORTS he may WANT OUT

Matthews is the future of Jazz

This is a kid that thinks he is an old Vet!

Ford

Where did they get this Mathis? I like him. Why havn't we heard about him?

Yearsley

I think Utah could trade Matt Harpring's contract to the Houston Rockets, for let's say Shane Battier. I know it would be very unlikely that Houston would even think about doing this but, that would allow Trevor Ariza to slide over to the 3 spot, which is his natural position. The thought of having Battier on this team has absolutely nothing to do with him being a former teammate of Carlos Boozer's when they both played at Duke. Battier would bring that defensive mindset, that is just beginning with Wesley Matthews at the NBA level. Battier has proven his defensive ability by guarding Kobe, Lebron, Dwayne , Carmelo, and even guarding his own teammate in Tracy McGrady during practice, when T-Mac is healthy. I honestly hope if Utah could make a deal straight up of Matt Harpring for Shane Battier I would be very glad. I could picture Utah's new starting lineup of Mehmo, Carlos Boozer, Shane Battier, Wes Matthews, Deron Williams. Utah's bench would consist of Krylylo Fesenko, Paul Millsap, Andrei Kirilenko, Ronnie Brewer or Kyle Korver, Eric Maynor, and Kosta Kofous.

Re: I agree

T-MAC??? Do you even pay attention to whats been going on in Houston? They got better playing without him. As for the Dunderhead that wants to trade Matthews you are an even bigger idiot. When was the last time a rookie for the Jazz was playing this good? probably Darrel Griffith's Rookie season

I agree a little bit with most of the comments made, but disagree a little too. The Jazz need to hang on to Boozer through the end of the season because it is his contract year and he is actually trying to play well. Whoever is talking about trading Harpring needs to read the article posted on this page (Harpring is a locker cleaning away from retirement).

Besides that I'll just say that the Jazz are playing well as of late, but haven't proven much yet. The Jazz could always play well at home, but they have been terrible on the road. They've had a good home swing here, but to show that they're capable, they've got to beat some good teams on the road now. If not, then we've seen this story and know the ending, which is out in round 1 or 2 to the Lakers. However, I am very excited to watch them again this season. Go JAZZ!

Miles

C.J. looked awesome. I predict that he will be ready to start any game now, possibly as soon as today against the Wolves. His great preseason will carry over to this game.

sob

jazz looked good in green, lots of fans in green too
oh wait, those are empty seats, never mind.

THEFT!!

Every minute that CJ plays should be reported to the police by Wes Matthews.

Why would we put CJ on the floor at all when we have Matthews?

Matthews shoots just as well if not better AND HE PLAYS DEFENSE, REBOUNDS, AND IT NOT AFRAID TO GO IN THE PAINT!!

CJ has never let those things cross his mind let alone do them.

CJ +/- last night?

A stellar MINUS 8!! The lowest of any player who played.

Any player who has not played should be trying to get to the rim for easy baskets. CJ? 2 of his 3 shots were from 3 pt range.

This guy still just does not get it.

Then when your shot is not going or you are trying to get back in the flow TRY SOME DEFENSE CJ!!!

Every game is like his first.

We should never bother drafting these young punks with little college experience ever again.

There is just no comparison when you look at Maynor and Matthews who spent 4 years in College BB.

Koufos

Eveyone thinks Koufos "stinks" but his 82game stats say other wise. Further, a lot of people were calling for Fez to get traded last year. Koufos is going to be very good. However, it will take time while he learns the offensive moves he needs to make. He is very tentative right now.

If Boozer or Millsap get blocked that does not affect the rest of their night. They know it is a percentage game and that they will get their minutes.

Everything that does not go right makes Koufos think before he moves. Boozer and Millsap move on instinct. They have enough experience that they make moves automatically. Koufos is still trying to make up his mind about a move and that slows his move.

Koufos rebounds very well. He plays defense well. He is unsure on when to switch but that is mostly lack of playing.

Why give Koufos away. If someone else wants him the Jazz should keep him.

82games says he is much better at PF than C. Don't be surprised when he becomes the tall Defensive PF the Jazz needs when Boozer leaves.

Koufos is going to be very good in 3 years.

Miles

Great game CJ,without you we don`t win this game, keep up the great play

Nevada fan

Yearsley: I like it , but that's a long shot. I also think its time to add to this team. The Lakers are the team we need to beat in 7, and the Nuggets are going to be tough.
To the Jazz: Good job team, Boozer we need ya, Fes needs to play and stay tune up for the Lakers, Matthews great job, and Okur hope you get out of your slump.

rdha

Another good win for the Jazz. Just want to say that I LOVE those green uniforms with the old school Jazz logos on them! I want one of those green jerseys. They're funky and sweet! Wesley Matthews is a great new addition to the Jazz and a real asset. Lets get everyone on the Jazz team healthy and in good form and they should win most of their games this season. GO JAZZ!! I love you guys.

hmmmmm.....No contract next year, no injuries and good play this year....just wondering what the last several years would have been like if Boozer were on a year to year contract.

Re : Todd

a little hard on CJ aren`t we?? he`s only 23,only been with the Jazz 4+ years,it takes a while to learn this system, look how long it`s taken Matthews, besides, miles has all that upside, potential, high ceiling.....
