And energey prices will continue to rise. Thanks "greens" for using faulty science to promote your scam.
Too bad that at my home here in Richfield, unemployment is sky high, and we are tossing great paying jobs out the window due to some hype from a small, yet very well organized bunch of tree-huggers. WE NEED GOOD PAYING JOBS! This valley pretty much exists on the Convulsion Canyon coal mine. The power for everything we use comes from somewhere. There are no "magic wands" that we can all wave to make it. Although wind powered sites are springing up near Milford, it is at sheer best an experiment. Unless everyone against the plant are willing to turn off thier heat, lights, T.V.'s and other electronic gear, let them build the plant.
Bytheway...all of you that troll me...Thanx in advance, (and please turn off your computer, it's using electricity from a coal burning power plant somewhere)
At least they aren't using our resources, you'll thank us later.
Why do they have to reget a permit?
WELL THAT WAS BRIGHT UTAH,THERE WENT SOME REAL GOOD PAYING JOBS,NOT TO MENTION THE CONTINUED JOBS CREATED BY THE FLY ASH TO OUR CONCRETE INDUSTRY.WELL,I GUESS MCDONALDS WAGES AND FOOD STAMPS ARE A WAY OF LIFE HERE,JUST DONT RAP YOUR ORDER,OR YOU WILL BE EXECUTED!
sad to see the Utah Supreme Court advance BO's campaign promise to bankrupt the domestic coal industry and raise engery prices for us all. BO's job summit was nothing more than a photo-op.
Need the jobs, I've asked numerous times for the tree huggers to verify that any of them actually pay the extra $1.95 per KWH for wind and other "green" power. none of them have ever claimed to use it.
Can we buy power from Wal=Mart? I think they burn coal in China
Even still the global warning freaks have there claws into people and even people being shown that they have been lied to for years still goes along with them
Lost in DC...With what has happened recently with the "hacking" of the falsified documents concerning Global Warming, what is their next move? It has been far too long that a very few have told the quiet masses how to live "correctly". Less than 150 years ago, the pioneers came to the most desolate regions of North America to colonize it and make it livable. Now that the work is done, they want us all to fill our childrens bellies with the tourism dollar but never use a resource. It cannot be done! We have implemented far too many laws that keep us from the resources that we need. Not long before we have, by our own hand, made ourselves a "third world" country.
It's sad that a minority bunch of tree huggers make the laws.
What's the definition of an environmentalist? Someone who owns a cabin in the mountains and doesn't want anyone else to own one.
Utahn's need to get together and make laws that prohibit new jobs from being created.
As Shakespeare said in Henry VI "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers".
Yeah!
And to all you whining about those "good paying jobs"... Construction lasts for what?, 3 years...maybe??
You'd buy a $40,000 pick-up truck that will run for 200K miles and end up in junk-yard 5 years from now, instead of investing in a college education and earning "good wages" for a life-time.
While the coal plants pump smoke, ash and other toxins into the atmosphere for generations.
Get an education and stop thinking short-term.
Nobody said they couldn't build the plant.
The court just said they needed a more current permit.
I wish I could build a house using old, expired permits.
This is a conspiracy against us. Glenn Beck is right. The government has been taken over by Socialist Nazis. Yes, I'm still in Utah! You guys crack me up...
Anonymous....Yeah, I would like to buy a new truck, run it for 200,000 or so and send it to the junkyard. Construction lasts for 3 years...(Hell ya, give me a job for 3 years). I don't believe that the house you live in was built by someone that wasn't in the "construction biz'. The wood that the house was built from was taken from a forest that is most likely under some type of wilderness study or the like and is no longer a source of jobs either. The sidewalks and streets you use were all mined, along with you cars, but let's shut that off also. Trouble is, I am thinking in the long term, before our government prohibits us, (but not any other country), from using any resource at all. Bytheway....I know plenty of college educated people right here in the valley that would jump at the chance to work constuction on the power plant, they need the work.
To anomymous and the Supreme court. It is real sad when a bunch of idiots ruin the country. I personally know people on both side of the argument. Imbicles and ignorant people are against the plant. Those who are smart and not emotional idiots are for it. It wouldn't just be during construction there would be good paying jobs, but for years during the production of very clean electricity. Again it is sad to see the courts make such decisions that are based on faulty science, ignorance, and stupid laws.
Whaaa...they have had the permit for years, they were blocked in court so many times that the original expired. It is most likely too late now anyway.....I't won't be built.
It’s so much cheaper for a foreign country to fund a bunch of lawyers working for the Sierra Club, SUWA, etc, etc…. than it is to try and compete in a free market.
As soon as everyone recognizes that environmentalism is a political movement and nothing else then we’ll all be a lot better off.
foreign funded SUWA...
An very true statement. They are slowly implementing us from the faulty N.A.H to the European union...more New World Order hoo haa. It is sad that so many Americans that believe their "hearts" are in the right places have been victims of a huge propoganda machine that is bringing America to her knees.
They needed a more current permit because of other hurdles that make it impossible to do business.
