But according to Dave Rose in an article earlier today, "we know who are rival is." Poor Dave can't beat USU nor can he understand that it's possible to have more than one rival.
162-12 Record in the Spectrum says it all with the 2nd best home streak in the country. I know B.R. and the rest of the cougs think that we reserve this kind of tough love for them, but this goes all season long for every game whether it is BYU, SUU, Nevada or LA tech. Any other team/coach would love to have a sixth man like this. Love sending the cougs packing. Hope they have a good year though...and we wish Rose the best in his off the court battles.
Aggies would win a lot more games if they played every team 'with emotion' like they do against BYU. Even against a weak Utah team they lost, becaue they don't have a Y on their uniform.
Good job ding dongs, survive the WAC schedule with your lack of Cougar opponents.
Oh, good win tonight. Very disappointing showing in my Cougs. Bad loss for them as USU will disappoint aplenty this year.
I felt a lot of hate coming from your article. Check your emotions.
Yes Dave Rose, we have enough hate to go around for all our rivals. I see how you might not want us to be called your rival cause you usually have to play at your rivals court at least once every other year, and we all saw that scared look on your face tonight and how well it worked out for you and your team, oh and sorry for breaking your spirits! NOT! Welcome to the Spectrum, don't be too scared to come again!
nor can Dave Rose get his team to run a half court offense... 'till then they'll never beat a real team... not that Utah St is a real team but at least they can compete as they can run half court sets... Wesley put on a clinic in the post...
Take of your Rose-colored glasses and watch the game again. Y'all got beat by a quality team tonight, and it started on defense. Stew did a great job coaching his team into getting back on the transition defense. If I was a Cougarball fan, I would want BYU to figure out how to win when the opponent plays quality defense both in transition and half-court. Y'all got stomped, and USU will repeat as WAC champs this year.
Certainly I hope the article is tongue in cheek, really. I read it that way. I'm a BYU fan and I've been in the Spectrum, it is the way college basketball should be. It's like a poor man's Cameron Indoor and I say that with some affection. I have never seen anything improper there as opposed to other venues which will remain nameless. All the signage mentioned is in rivalry fun. Let's admit, its a tough place to play. And props to the Ags, but lets admit this, w/o a 6th man in a neutral arena, BYU has much better talent, JT, Jimmer and Jackson will not have another combined game like that. Anyway, in a neutral arena, they play 10 times, BYU wins 7-8 times. Oh, and this game/loss will benefit the younger players like Haws Davies etc when they play in SD, LV and NM. But lets see who goes to the BIG Dance. Likely 3 or MWC teams and 1 count em 1 WAC team. WAC, say that 3 or 4 times.
This article says it all when it comes to the home court advantage at the Spectrum. What recruit says to themself "I would rather play in the great and spacious fireside center then here?" Utah State is one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. We love our basketball team. Utah and BYU could care less about basketball. Come to Utah State and witness for yourself the magic in the Spectrum.
Brad needs to do his homework. That chant gets used on every opposing player whenever the have a major misque. I was one of those fans chanting it. Do I have a "hatred" for Jimmer? No. I think he's a very talented player. I've chanted that at lots of players.
People need to realize that the Spectrum's rowdy no matter who's in town. Against SUU there weren't even that many of us there due to the holiday and it was still louder than other venues I've seen. And yes we still chanted "stupid stupid stupid" at people. Now I can't remember even one of their names.
Opposing teams, please stop feeling so special because the Spectrum is so crazy while you're there. Its always like that, trust me.
Brad, research just a little more before you (accidentally?) make misleading statements.
Max Hall's mouth is really the gift that keeps on giving. I love it. Thank you Max Hall.
Signed,
The State of Utah
After attending a game last year in Logan, I was really shocked to see the immaturity of the USU fans. They even had a big sign disparaging BYU women. When they played this year at BYU, they were still just as immature. I guess it was asking too much for them to behave like grownups. Sad to be so insecure.
It will become a rivalry when the cowardly Aggies come to play in the Marriott Center every other year. Can't afford to lose there when you have trouble getting into the NCAA tournment; even if you do wint the WAC.
is my friend. Thank you Aggies.
Sincerely,
The "hated" Utes.
Watching all of the in-state hatred towards BYU only shows one thing...jealousy. Utah and USU will never be respected and held in the highest regard like BYU on a world-wide level. Keep acting like 2 year olds.
You're right, Brad, there's plenty of hate to go around. And you are doing your part to promote it and keep it going. One day when the hate really gets out of hand and someone gets seriously injured or is killed by a nut job then we know we can count on you to be one of the first to wonder how it happened.
So Rock On Brad, keep the hate flowing.
As an alumnus of both USU and BYU, I love it when the Cougars get beat! The Cougs are cry babies!
Logan is the best "college community" in the state. Most students actually live on or close to campus. When the basketball fans get going they are clever and intense. I still prefer to attend a game at the Spectrum than a pro-game at the Energy Solutions.
Stew is the best! Go Big Blue!!!
Did Dick Harmon help you write this article? Wow, I didn't realize you were such a y homer.
I hate you Aggs and your whole organization too!
Just kidding!
But anyways still....
GO COUGARS!
