Awesome. We are lucky to have such a great coach.

What a waste of money... get used to losing til at least 2011!

Great, another year of no headbands for the players. Why on earth would you want them to be comfortable anyway? Soon Sloan will be checking to see if players' underwear matches.

THEeyepatch

It not that the Jazz lose, just "won and done" in the first round of the playoffs. This is the problem with having a good team. They're good enough to get to the playoffs, just not good enough to win a title. O'Connor needs to start building a great team, a championship team, starting at the top. Expect the expected Jazz fans, at least for one more year.

cant really say I'm looking forward to another year of farm talk and tractor analogies...it seems they could've waited to see how the year went first.

Are you guys serious?

Why would you want a regular coach that would be fired after one losing season (and that is what we would have - a losing season)? Every coach has flaws (yes, even the great Phil Jackson), but Coach Sloan gives our team a chance in the playoffs every single year. There is nothing better than that. The only other option to eventual greatness is to tank a couple of seasons and get the #1 pick in the draft (a la San Antonio/Cleveland). I, for one, would rather not have to endure such a garbage season.

Yes, Sloan never won a Championship, but at least Jazz had been playing well for so many years. Other than the 26 win season, which we have many injury problems, the team has been doing well. Even with some spare parts, Jazz is still consistently get a playoff spot.

With Jerry Sloan, you know who is in charge. With many other teams you don't. If the coach is not in charge then you get what some other teams get...a new coach every so often...no expectations. Now let's extend KOC contract as well. If you listen to him on 1320 with Locke, you know how well he knows the game. The Jazz have an outstanding organization top to bottom. Thank you Millers.

If you cannot win championship what for play and cheer? After all these years why why? Why jazz need him. Jazz doesn't want title so maybe deserve Jerry, I guess.

another year of no changes....great just great. Thumbs down.

Congratulations to the Miller family for re-signing Coach Sloan. I've been a Jazz fan since before Layden left. I am glad that LHM set the tone for this team early---that Sloan is the boss, not the players. I am proud of the Jazz and the organization. It is too bad that not every team is run like the Jazz are----
Maybe we don't win a championship ever, but I will still be a fan as long as the team and ownership run an operation that I can proudly support.

All of you nay sayers don't know anything about basketball. What other coach could take THIS jazz team and do anything better? Nobody. Until the jazz get a defensive big man and guards besides D-Will who can shoot the ball and play defense we will see the same stuff.

BYRON SCOTT IS ON THE MARKET AND YOU INVEST IN A COACH 1 YR FROM RETIREMENT?

WHAT????

I AM A GREAT FAN OF COACH SLOAN... BUT PASSING UP A GREAT LONG TERM TALET LIKE SCOTT? WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED WINNING RECORDS WHEN HE HAS TALENT ON THE ROSTER?

SORRY MILLER FAMILY..... THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

THAT IS OK...ONE LESS THING I HAVE TO SPEND MY XMAS MONEY ON... SEASON TICKETS.

Sloan is a good coach

in the sense that he is pretty good at spotting young 2nd round and undrafted talent. He is frustrating in that he takes time to develop them.

Sloan is a very good offensive coach but he tends to not make changes, especially player changes that would fix the weaknesses that would get him and the franchise a contender.

That seems to be his biggest weakness, his reluctance to make changes that obviously need to be made.

If Sloan retires the organization will have to decide if they want to get a coach who will use the Sloan system or start over. If Fez, Mathews, Maynor, Millsap and Koufos develop enough and the Jazz get the right players to go with them, the Jazz could contend next year.

They might contend this year but lets see how they play against LA/SA/PHO/DEN.

The Jazz need to start building a contender. They have backed into a couple of missing pieces in Maynor/Mathews. Fez looks like he could become the dominant C that the Jazz need. They need a great tall PF who will play both offense and defense.

That and team defense are about all that is missing.

so did Lawrence Frank..

So did Jeff Van Gundy

Many people are brainwashed. Way too many that SLoan is "irreplacable"

NO ONE IS IRREPLACABLE

NOT YOU OR I

It is mostly the elderly or people that resist change in life I did not say no extension but at least wait with the season

So much can happen good or bad

Sloan wants certain kind of players for "his power and to fit his system"

Prediction: for those that expect change in 2010-2011 or roster turnover?

Likely 9, 10 players come back with minimal change/

Other words same roster as other teams because of the new cap make major moves. Watching OK CIty get better. By next year, you will see at least Minnesota get better next...

the jazz team is built to just make the play offs, even when the jazz made the finals, no one really believed they would win, Sloan has done a lot but show me the ring, make a change to bring a champion ship to Utah.

Tyler

Playoffs are nice. . . but thats not what you play for. you want to win it all. with sloan we wont. Even if i do love him
