So, they won't tell the students what's going on, but they release information to the media?
Some kids will do anything to get out of class. Now the school district needs to add 2 days to the school year for every incident like this. That way the kids wouldn't be apt to use a pay phone to make one of these types of threats.
I lol'd. I got to stand in the cold for 1 hour in my biotech lab coat. XD Most fun EVER!
Some of us knew what was going on within 5 minutes.
Mike, don't blame all of us. It might not have even been a student And even if it was, the 2000+ of us that didn't do a thing, shouldn't be punished.
at my school in the 80's we had a bomb threat like once a week.
ha every student knew but whoever did it needs to get caught kuz they kept meh in the cold :(
That was bad! Horrible, standing in the cold for two hours was not pleasant, and when we were allowed back in I just went home. Great day at West High!
Umm there was def another bomb threat within the past 8 years, I don't know what Jarmillo is talking about. I was on lock down for 4 hours in my french class that day
I think teachers and students would have been more cooperative if admin had told teachers why we were evacuating and why we had to go across the street instead of the parking lot where we normally go.
Once the kids found out, they were more willing to be patient and wait it out in the cold.
I like how the faculty didn't tell us anything.
I don't even trust the them with handling my fees and fines. Let alone evaluating the safety of a life or death situation. I think as students we have a right to know why they determined it was safe, and not be expected to just blindly follow orders when they tell us it's safe to go back to class without knowing anything about the incident.
but whatever, i wasn't planning on going to 3rd or 4th either way.
About 9 years ago there was a bomb threat at the triad center, but since it was so close to West, we all had to wait in our classrooms. I was in biology class. I think this was the first bomb threat in West High that I can remember, just not the only one in the area that affected high school students.
The kid or adult who does this will be in an alternative school and won't have to do the extra 2 days.
the threat yrs ago was someones bag they left and had his alarm colock in it from an overnight school event. but it was in the drivers ed course, so they only told students to go to the other side of the classroom. And it was not that cold
my bro was there. i might go to west next year for ELP. but possibl not
