This means less coal jobs

Utah relies so much on local coal -- about 82 percent of our electricity comes from coal. This means fewer jobs for Utahns. Why can't we get stimulus funds to spark consumption to create jobs?

Like an Ostrich, Utah has been hiding its head in the sand when it comes to energy. With Utah's growing population and air quality problems, funding such activities makes sense!

If only Utahns would inform themselves, they would see that the transition to a green/clean/sustainable economy requires investments. And these investments would yield far greater returns than following the status quo.
If we keep using fossil fuels to grow our economy and satisfy increasing demands for energy, one day our grand-children will have to pay the price for our inabilities to prepare for the future.

By the way, Utah's coal industry provides 1800 jobs...
