Wonderful and refreshing.
This is needed.
The dems and repubs are out of touch and have abandoned the conservative principles of the Foun ders !
Excellent that we have some good choices running! Lets all get behind any and all independant candidates! Put an end to partisan politics, please, and don't vote for any R or D.
pick between twiddlede and twiddledumber?
Too bad these candidates are unprepared, their website don't even work. You shouldn't publish them if they are not up. I'll stick with Matheson.
Casey Anderson (republican) filed to run against Matheson.
He would be my pick over these two.
I am hoping the rumor that Morgan Philpot is testing the waters on this race is true. I think he would be good enough to kick Matheson out.
Matheson is hardly conservative. He scored 36 for the American Conservative Union Ratings for 2008. Rob Bishop got 100 and Bennett got 64. Bennett is now the 8th most liberal republican US senator based on those numbers. Where does that leave Matheson?
2nd District, both of our sites work just fine. Most of the quotes from me in this article are from my site, and I check Dave's daily to keep up with my fellow independent. The links from here don't re-direct you properly because they have extra characters after the address.
As for Casey Anderson, has anyone asked him yet if he is signing the Republican Party pledge of allegiance that the RNC announced last week? Will he or anyone else affiliated with a party really represent all members of a district? I know I will.
Thanks for clearing that up Ryan; yes the websites do work, just try typing them in after the www. As Ryan stated apparantly the posted link does not redirect properly.
The only question I have is directed to Ryan, am I tweedledee or tweedledumer? Not quite sure; you pick, OK?
Folks, take some time and review both of our sites, you may find something you like; if not just move on down the road to the next candidate in line until you find one that fits. The important thing is that you do SOMETHING, that is unless you are really thrilled with the way everything in going right now.
In that case just check your R or D in the box next year and call it a day. If not then drop me or Ryan or Morgan, or whomever and email. See who gets back to you first and if the return message is relevant, perhaps that will tell you something.
To all readers, be well and stay well; best of life to you all.
Best regards,
Dave Glissmeyer
Congressional Candidate in 2010, Utah's 2nd District
Good post Ryan, yes both websites work if you type them in after a nice www.
Folks, just do some due homework if you want something different next year; if not no worries.
The ONLY reason I am running is to give Utahns a shot at a representative that would come with "no strings attached."
No corporate money, no PAC money and no party money; just workin' for the voters, the citizens. As it should be.
Best of life to you all.
I have heard of Morgan Philpot. If he is running, that would be awesome. He seems like he has potential.
GOP and independent conservatives have run against Matheson since he started in 2000. Each time they have failed with the largest margin of victory the last election. Matheson must be doing something right in his predominant GOP (16 county) district to keep getting re-elected as a Democrat. Must be a lesson in there somewhere despite all the criticism he gets from both sides of the political spectrum...
