When you play in a conference loaded with Bottom 10 teams, when you can't even average 14,000 fans to your home games, and when you load up your non-conference schedule with Div 1-AA cupcakes, you DON"T DESERVE the respect you beg for. Try and make a case for national admiration for even your champion, who played 1 quality team, Week one, and you'll fall flat on your caboose. Fill your bandbox stadiums, play decent teams and win, travel with 30,000 fans, and I'll back your case. The WAC is a JOKE.

Boise offered to play ANYONE this season and NOBODY accepted. Its not entirely their fault they can't schedule more difficult opponents. None of the big boys want to play Boise. Of course they don't, they have nothing to gain.

Truth is they've beaten everyone they've played pretty easily and nobody really knows how good they are.

While nobody cares what I think, as a former opponent of a playoff, I am now a fierce proponent. The BCS will stick it to the WAC and the MWC if it at all can.

Bob in line

The WAC is a joke, though Boise St is not. Yes, you lay out many reasons why Boise St has no reason being in any bowl game: They don't travel well, they have pathetic attendance at home, and their schedule is pretty weak. That being said, they do have the ability to beat the big ones. They did what no one said they could do against Oklahoma, and they did it against possible PAC-10 champion first game this season.

Boise St is pathetic every where but on the field. TCU should get the automatic bid and Boise St should get the first At-large bid. In a corrupt BCS system Boise St is very likely out of the picture. How sad. This year two non-BCS teams deserve to go busting.

Sounds like wishful

No serious competition will hardly get BSU into a real BCS battle - maybe they should be rematched with Oregon to see what happens?

MWC Talk

Sorry...but your precious MWC is not much better than the WAC...if at all. Who did TCU beat this year?? Nobody of any worth outside of the overrated MWC. BSU deserves to be there just as much as TCU.

I think this article is just projection by BYU. They are always trying to scratch their BCS itch. How does it feel to be the unappreciated step child.

BSU continues to play its hand extremely well. Continued winning while continuously trying to attract big name non-conference opponents will eventually pay off. Take a look at Gonzaga's BB program over the years. That has been their consistent business model and it has paid off. I agree with a comment above: nobody big wants to play BSU because they're too scared of the consequences of losing to them.

tcu wins

tcu beat a dang good clemson team at clemson...and they beat byu at byu...and they killed a utah at home...oregon is weak this year just like the rest of the pac 10....tcu has better wins

Seattleview

I want BSU in a BCS game and against anyone but TCU. I am a fan of non BCS teams because we need some form of tournament for football.

BCS and TCU need to win in their bowl games.

By the way, BSU is supposed to be better next year. That says something about their program.

Still, I hate to think what they would do if their current coaching staff ever left. I dont think they could maintain this high level of play.

Game Over - Fiesta Bowl

BCS Fiesta Bowl Update:

BSU beat TCU making BSU only the second school to have a 14-0 record along side Ohio State.

Will that get Boise anything?

A #3 start next year and still no respect.

Face it. Have all the bowl games you want, but unless a championship game has the two teams with the best wind records it is nothing but BCS fluff to fill the stadium and get TV time.

However, maybe they should have taken a gander at the stadium and TV attendance for the Fiesta.

BSU deserves some respect.

When I was in HS our team stunk, royally stunk. But one year for no good reason we went 10-0.

What happened?

we went as the Cinderella team to the championships because that year by record we deserved it, like BSU has on a number of occasions.
