Korver will be needed more than "ever" to start giving the opponents to be concerned with "a proven perimeter threat"

We will need him to have "immediate impact" once he comes back. As a result, if another week will help save him till we go on the road again
let him go | 5:40 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
he's just another cancer for the jazz as is cj miles. neither korver nor miles is at all defensive minded and so they need to trade miles and his 4 mil per year. keep korver on the injured list the rest of the yr and then let him go when the season is done. matthews has hit more 3's than korver and matthews has been here for only a few games.

the jazz are not playing like crap cuz their players are injured. no, they are playing like crap cuz they're playing selfish. during the games when they HAVE made the extra pass and actually helped each other out they've won those games (clippers, spurs, pistons) but all other games they've gotten beaten both on offense and defense.

We need Korver | 8:25 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
It's pretty funny that some people think Matthews is a better player than Korver. Matthews has really proven himself ....let's see he hasn't scored more than 7 points in the last 4 games....he's really doing great,
chuckle, chuckle. Give us Korver any day of the week!

It's good that Korvers taking an extra week to get stronger! The Jazz miss him, but he needs to be at his best when he comes back!

Kover can help the Jazz. Sloan has faith in him and so so Jazz Fans.

We want Korver back! | 8:31 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
Dang I was looking forward to Korver's return. He could really help the Jazz ! If Sloan trusted him enough to let those 3's fly the Jazz could be a contender! Get those legs working Korver we want you back in good shape!
No need for trades | 8:39 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
@Let him go.....someone had too much turkey today! What a sour blogger. Korver brings it every game he plays! What team are you watching? Korver plays as good as any one on the Jazz Team is allowed to play in the system that Sloan runs. No need to trade anyone. They can only run the plays set up for them. Relax and
go watch football. We want Korver back.
A Korver Fan | 11:02 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
Looking forward to Korver's return. He is an exciting player and the Jazz need his perimeter savy.
UtahJazzFever | 11:17 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
LOL!!! Matthews over Korver :) Can't stop laughing... HAHAHAHA! Matthews had a couple good games. Atleast we know what we're gonna get out of Korver. Korver is an excellent shooter from anywhere on the court. @let him go: Your girl have a crush on him or something?
Nevada fan | 11:31 p.m. Nov. 26, 2009
Korver you need to man up! There has been better players than you that have played hurt and far from 100%. Get in there and help your team and quit being a girlie man and play, lets see what your really made of.
JAZZFAN | 12:27 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
I can't believe someone pointed out that Matthews has hit more 3s than Korver! The only reason for that is Korver has only played in what? ONE game?! Of course Matthews is going to be hitting more 3s than Korver since Korver isnt even playing!
Anonymous | 1:01 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
korver is one of the most inconsistent shooters in the nba. matthews does his job well its not all about scoring
re: Nevada fan | 1:02 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
Haha, yeah, I'm sure an NBA player is going to take medical advice from some random guy. You ever stop to think that coming back too early on a surgically repaired knee might actually be a bad thing? Players try doing that stuff all the time, and a week later we hear the reports saying they'll be out twice as long as the first time because they weren't 100%. Let's listen to the doctors, and leave the medical decisions to guys with PhDs and things like that. Good luck Korver! Can't wait 'til you get back so I can see a 3 ball actually go through the net...
re:Nevada fan | 11:31 p.m. Nov.  | 1:26 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
He had surgery, dude, and his leg hasn't regained adequate strength. It isn't a matter of "manning up," or pain threshold, it is a matter of being able to perform and not getting re-injured.

I went in for knee surgery at 6:30 am and walked out at 9:30 am -- and my leg had lost 50% of its strength in 3 hours. They don't know why you immediately lose strength during an operation, you just do. If you don't build it up, you get re-injured.

Honestly. Kyle cannot be moved with the contract. I would rather see CJ< Brewer moved they may bring something back.

Korver has his faults, makes a lot of money, but I think he receives too much criticism on these boards.

He plays with the spirit love for the game that one would think means playing here the rest of his career.

I would like to see it, but the rest of this season will be vital and he has to get back to the KOrver we first obtained and the man I remember from Philly that lit us up for 27 one night.
IDjazz12 | 8:07 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
I think most bloggers on here do not understand that Korver was great in Philly and his numbers were good there for him because they ran plays for him there and he got good open looks but,
here in the Sloan system the only play he gets is running 100mph of the base line trying to shake his defender and has to come up to the top of the key to shoot a fade away. If plays were run for him here his numbers would be as good as when in Philly but in Sloans system unless you are Memo or Boozer or Milsap then good luck. The rest of the players get a shot on broken plays and usually come with the shot clock winding down and someone in there face.
The Sloan system only utilizes a few players not the team.

jazz classics on KJZZ would be sweet. I'd be all over that.
CKS | 8:27 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
How about airing a handful of current Utah Jazz and Utah Flash games on KJZZ. Lets not cut of 30% of the fan base when the team needs every eyeball it can get.
Korver a class act | 9:01 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
Couldn't agree more IDjazz12. You put Korver's situation in a nutshell. He did have great numbers in Philly. In Utah he has been relegated to being a role player. He is such a team player you won't hear a word of complaint from him. He is a class act in every way!
He is a fun energetic player with the best looking 3 point shot in the league!
I have faith in Korver | 10:25 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
He turned the Jazz around when he came. He improved his defense last year. He works at being a better player. He will never be fast but he plays hard.

He needs time to fully recover and to get his shooting back. Mathews is a good rookie and can fill in while Korver fully recovers.

I really like both Mathews and Koufos but both would benefit from playing a lot in D league this year. For them the game experience and playing time is most important to their development.

Korver is a closer and pulls out the close games. He keeps the paint open and hits FTs.

He is a specialist and should be played in certain match ups and at specific times in most games.

When Mathews gets a couple of years of game experience then maybe he can replace Korver. In the meantime expect Korver to do whatever he can to improve.

I really like players who fix their weaknesses. If Korver could improve his lateral quickness (their are places that specialize in that) it would really improve his game.
korver | 11:13 a.m. Nov. 27, 2009
another boozer be out half the year. should have had it fixed during the off season instead of playing golf.
Old Port | 12:05 p.m. Nov. 27, 2009
I have cringed everytime he gets the ball for the past two years, but can't wait to see what Matthews will do when he gets the ball this young season. Korver needs to step it up.
Keep up | 12:42 p.m. Nov. 27, 2009
Korver's knee didn't bother him in the off season. It didn't flare up until he started doing hard drills. If you kept up on the Jazz news you would know that. Even Korver's doctors didn't see the need for surgery so why get surgery if the experts don't advise it. Kover had the surgery as soon as the docs advised it. Korver is not about malingering. He wants to be out there with his team. Give him a break! He is all about doing what it takes to help his team.
Relax | 12:44 p.m. Nov. 27, 2009
What a guys not allowed to golf during the off season!
