"A lot of times I defer to Booz (power forward Carlos Boozer) and (center) Memo (Okur), because they get a little mad" [Williams talking about getting rebounds]
Maybe the reason the Jazz are not playing up to par is because people are too wrapped up in their own statistics.
Kirilenko's numbers starting and off the bench are sort of reverse what they were last season, where his starting numbers were better. It's good to see him playing well, in any case. Sooner or later, Coach is going to have to see that Kyle Korver and CJ Miles aren't going to fix what ails the Jazz defensively. He's a great coach. I just don't get why he doesn't play his true centers more.
Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!
We are going nowhere fast. Sooner or later, Jerry has to start playing the young big guys more and see if they're worth building a future around.
This season is going to be a transition year. Boozer and / or AK will be gone next year, as we can't afford both. Just as well, a frontline of Boozer and Okur cannot get the job done. This off-season was a killer because we had a chance to make some changes but decided to remain status quo. The way things look now though we couldn't have been much worse if we did make those trades. In fact, if we looked to the future instead of trying to stay with a group that we already knew was flawed and used this year to rebuild, things might look a lot better.
We also need to make a choice among Brewer, CJ, and Korver, as Matthews has shown that he has potential and is worth keeping. Brewer seems the odd man out. Can't shoot consistently and has trouble staying in front of his man on defense.
AK and Booz are overpaid actors, pretending to be what they are not, dedicated and superb basketball players. Trade them and the coach ASAP. I would sign Iverson and play him at point and let DW shoot and score 25 points each game. The team is lacking in every area and will continue to lose with this boring and unathletic style. Please do not tell me about KK or CJ, they are not missed and should have been dumped last summer.
AK and Boozer are actually both superb basketball players, but you are definetly right: they are OVERPAID!
To Chuck: I agree. Through out Sloan's reign he has never went out and got a big dominant Center. He refuse's to use the 12 hard fouls that are between Fes, and KK. I am going out on a limb and say that I think he has a problem with all big guys. If you look at all the Championship teams they have had at least one, or the team as whole where long (Lakers, Celtics, MJ's Bulls, OKC ). The Jazz are not that big of a team.
Boozer is a stand up ball player and I hope they trade him soon. He deserves fans that appreciate him. You people aren't going to realise what you had until he's gone. Then cry me a river boys and there won't be anybody listening!!
Maybe not as crazy as it sounds,AI and D-will in the backcourt together would be hard to defend sure match up problems, but we would cause as many problems for the opposition, hey, AI,Williams,AK,Boozer and Memo starting, second unit Maynor,Korver or CJ,Brewer,Millsap,Fes or Koufos, comments????
Iverson won`t be retired for long,LA or another team will snag him,go after him Jazz, what you got to lose
Perimeter defense, perimeter defense, perimeter defense, perimeter defense. Please CJ & Kyle get well & spread the floor. Oh, ya, only 10-12 TO per game wins.
I hope they lose today... My Utah Jazz disappoint me as they've always disappointed me for years.... they only good thing about my team is the Jazz Dancers. I go to the games just to watch them instead of my team blowing it in the 4th quarter all the time. Go "other team" whoever they're playing today.
I smell what the "Noah" is cooking......
Look for him to have a field day defensively, blocking shots, and snashing offensive rebounds over our "powerful" front line
AI accepted by "Jer and the SLoanaholics"
ha ha ha ha sure.....
They will then write (i can see it now)
AI has no character, not Utah type person, do not want him. another Thuggett if he comes here, all of us will stop buying Jazz Tickets
As Gomer Pyle would say "GUARANTEED!!"
I am not always the biggest fan of Iverson, This kids just wants to be happy and play.
In my opinion he would be a good fit for the Jazz
The man is a happily married chap with loving children
He is a lot more humble than one thinks
Can anyone question his heart, courage and willingness to win and play extremely hard?
No...
Will SLoan and his family, and friends here approve
What do you think?
Happy Thanksgiving
One of my buddies is a huge bulls fan, he used to think noah wasn't any good, i kept telling him, man, the kid flat out hustles, he plays like he has a chip on his shoulder, now, it's my buddies fav player. millsap used to play like he had a chip on his shoulder, now he plays like he has ten million in his pocket, ouch, that hurts.
if you bring in ai and he disrupts chemistry, you have to consider whether there is chemistry to begin with. bring him on, if the jazz continue tanking it, you have ai, and you trade away some core players, i can see ai and booz existing nicely together.
dwill, needs to be cool, he isn't cool, just be cool, don't be a fool, pass the ball, get people involved, protect the ball. repeat, protect the ball.
sloan needs to get off the bench and get in the refs ears, try to coach the team, instead of passively sitting on the bench, this team needs help.
sign him up Jazz,he won`t be there long,I bet someone signs him within a week, you can probably get him cheap, and if he doesn`t work out,oh well, but I think he has something to prove....lets take advantage of that
