". . . nationally respected former vice presidential candidate?"
Really?
To the letter writer, Thank you for the biggest laugh I've had in a very long time "Joan of Arc" hahahahahahaha.
you say Palin is a
"nationally respected former vice presidential candidate".
I think you're overstating things a bit. You would have to admit there's not a whole lot to respect about either her resume or her character, especially after she quit her governorship.
This letter is easily the best laugh of the day!
Palin is a "nationally respected former vice presidential candidate? "
In what fairy tale would this be the case?
After seeing the goofballs in office at this time I'd say Palin is breath of fresh air. Biden is a total joke and Obama is falling by the wayside way fast. Palin's got her act together while the rest of us wonder what has happened....
Go get 'em girl....
I have NO RESPECT for the pandering, lying QUITTER. She failed to uphold the duties that the citizens of Alaska gave her. Furthermore MOST Americans saw through her sleazy tactics during the Presidential election.
Funny letter though, thanks Des News!
A bigger laugh would be, President Obama, "leader of the free world". This guy doesn't have a clue on leadership. Better put, " yomama Mr. indecisive". Only 3 years one month and five days left with the greatest empty suit to have lived in the White House.
I believe the w riter is sincere but I couldn't help but smile and laugh when I read it.
I guess the mail bag from Utah county has just arrived.
In one part of the book, Palin talks about how when her family went to Washington, they stayed at a hotel that had a bid screen TV in the mirror of the bathroom. Imagine this: When Palin was brushing her teeth, she watched the news and saw a scrolling headling about her daughter being pregnant. She says that she almost choked on her toothpaste!
Imagaine learning that your daughter is pregnant on a bathroom TV! It was supposed to be a secret!
Palin's book paints her as a tragic heroine, like Joan of Ark!
The letter writer must be missing a "few bob" that he thinks Palin is held in such his esteem. If she was so wonderful she would be Vice President now. She is what cost McCain his last chance to be President -- Not everyone is fooled by the wolf in sheeps clothing
Did any of you late-night commenters notice that she has a book that became a number one seller before it even went on the market? Honestly, the reaction of the left to the threat of a popular conservative Alaskan hockey mom is laughable.
Yes Daniel, it's DN's and Cannon's welcome matt, in a semi-KEY Red State, of mostly all Republican's, to wipe their feet on, the "You Betcha" gal, Mrs. Sarah Palin, using their "secret-stash" on the back burner, of "Radical Feminist liberal's", on the side, to spark-up de-BAIT n SWITCH hogwash, and, to "take your mind off of" "Sarah Palin", in a hateful way, because she's going for it, on her pre-President (book signing - book tour), for the 2012 Election, and, that "TICKS THEM OFF", because GOP Steele hates her, Rush Limbaugh worships her, and Glenn Beck bows down to her, and this, takes away from them "Rating's", (ie; sponsor's and dollars), plus they are boared out of their skull's in Utah, and talk about this. Santa Claus should avoid kissing children and shaking their hands to prevent spreading the flu and should get vaccinated against the illness, Utah's state health authority said. Plus Santa should NOT be kissing your Children in the first place. Keep Christ in Christmas, and, show your kid's there's no such thing as Santa. That's the truth.
So now Sarah Palin has to watch out for Burgundians as well as liberal feminists and Republican backsliders. But the writer does make clear the underlying mythology. Everyone knows the dear Governor is going nowhere. But the neo-anarchists need a martyr to explain the mystery of why sound and fury do not produce political reality.
"Ungracious" was the letter writer's gracious characterization of your utterly vicious cynicism.
It will be great fun watching you sit and spin during the 8 years of the Sarah Palin presidency, starting 20 Jan 2013.
Here's hoping the Nation survives 'til then!
Imo, "a number one best seller" wow! Here's the right wing smoke screen again. A number one book probably is selling in the hundreds of thousands at best, compared to the hundreds of millions it takes to be elected President. Her number one book selling status should be compared to her below 20% favorable poll status.
This lunatic neocon uses the words "liberal" and "feminist" in the same sentence. Both to demonize and denigrate free thought and women's rights.
This is exactly how the 3rd Reich pulled off their ideology.
"Nationally respected?"
Dude... She was so "respected" that the American voting public told her to hit the road! She and her octogenarian running mate were the biggest personification of a political cartoon our country has ever seen.
She quit as governor...she doesn't know that Africa is a country, she played dirty political games to lay waste to her ex-brother in law.
She is a political tire fire.
She shouldn't be allowed to run the "Cake Walk" at a school carnival, much less have access to our National Defense's launch codes.
Mike
Selling a million copies of a book is no big achievement when there are at least ten times that many faithful followers of the far right fringe. The exist in echo chambers that magnify their vision of the way things are in politics. Luckily ten million fills the mall in Washington several times over and sells alot of books but is still just .3% of the population of the USA.
PS. I heard Joan of Arc is going to get a commercial endorsement from a line of spandex running wear.
WOW all you liberals MUST really be afraid of her to get such vile hateful reactions...
David Duke had more 'national respect'.
