What video game is this movie suppose to be based off of? Or was this an assumption made because the movie has the word "Ninja" in it? Perhaps do some research before rolling the news out...-_-"

This review shows clearly that critics sometimes have no clue what they talking about, this movie is not based on a video game.

Brick

Anyone who knows video games knows that the movie Ninja Assassin is loosely BASED on video games such as Ninja Guiden,is that a better clarification for you, you idiots! The story was just exaggerated and created for film. Maybe you should research more before you make comments...-_- geez, you act like he just insulted your ninja life style and your mother.

not video game

the movie is based very loosely on the Shogun Assasin movies (which were the direct insperation for Taretino's Kill Bill movies. Quentin even states that Shogun Assasin was his main inspiration. by the way, while this movie has awesome special effects, the gore is a direct reflection of the original Shogun Assasin movies, specially the first one, wheree the female assasins cut the shogun's best warrior to shreds, one ear at a time...

there are video games that have ninja's fighting, but this movie is not based on them. It is based on the old-school extremely graphic shogun movies back in the day...

Capo

Hey "Brick" can you tell me what similarities this movie has with ninja Gaiden (not guiden...), because the only one i see is that it has ninjas..., if you call that loosely based then you're way far from being right.

I love this movie! This movie is the Citizen Kane of ninja movies!!

McCleod

Yep, just like Lone Wolf and Cub, or master of the flying Guillotine. This movie is homage to those super graphic asian flicks.
