I felt for you Javi. RSL would never have made it this far w/o you. Enjoy this victory. You earned it as much as everyone else.

el guanaco

congrats javi! i felt for him too. must've been a huge blow to have to leave so early in the game. we definitely missed him big time when he went out...for a long stretch we were horrible maintaining possession and creating offensive opps.

J Crunch

I felt bad for Javi. He's had a rough season, but really came on in the playoffs. I predict a big year for him next year.

And spare a thought

for all the guys on both teams who had to go 120+PKs with two of the subs being burned for medical reasons. I'd love to see some of the distance charts on how far guys (like Beckerman) had to run.

I've met Morales. He's a nice guy. His injury was terribly unfortunate. But it was great to see him celebrating with the team.

what about will?

how come there was no comment on why will johnson was subbed?

T-ravis

Will Johnson had gotten food poisioning the night before the game and wasn't feeling well.

Re: What about Will
He had food poisining. This championship is even more impressive considering we lost 2 of our all-star midfielders. How can you not love RSL? Fedor you were right!!

Food poisoning

Apparently he was sick all week.

will

Will had a stomach flu and just couldn't keep going. Must have ate at the same place as Dema, who was also sick.

Be happy to see Javi back next season for a repeat.

re: what about will?

Will Johnson had food poisoning and was a game time decision. He didn't have the energy to play the whole game so that is why Kreis subbed him out for Grabavoy at the half.

Speaking of Grabavoy, he played extremley well in my opinion.

Will Johnson

He had food poisening

Distance Miles

At half time Beckerman had 3.5 miles, I don"t know how many he had for the full 90. For comparisons sake Donovan had 7.2 (full game)

RSL Soccer Land

What I saw was a fragrant foul from Beckham who hit Morales in the back of his knee and the referee was very close. Espy and Grabavoy were big contributors in the second half, Galaxy was fortunate to end the game in a tie.
Olave and Borchers, The great Wall.
Rimando the Magician, Findley, Mr.Goal.
And you may add for the rest.

While I'm happy for the win this kinda angers me. RSL seriously won a championship in my lifetime before either the Jazz or Liverpool FC? Weak.

As far as loosing midfielders go it wasn't complety one sided. Dema Kovalenko wasn't able to play due to illness also. He is their starting defensive mid. Not a Galaxy apologist, just saying.
Amazing win, will definetely want a new jersey with champion star over the Real crest next year.

No star over the crest next year for Real. As defending champions (YES!) their jersey next year will have the MLS Cup on it. The following year it will revert to a star! Can't wait to buy the new jersey!

RSL had great depth this year. The drop off from starter to sub wasn't very much. Having quality subs kept RSL in the game when players couldn't go any more due to injury/sickness.

Outstanding team win! Way to peak at the right time! Go RSL! Congrats!

Dobro

There were quite a few teary eyes in the stands when he went down. Get well soon Javi.
