Good game i mean exciting. One thing Boozer didnot post double double. AK and Deron have it.
I was thinking late in the game "this is a miracle" the Jazz are in this is because AK hit 3s and Boozer hit long range and played D. Brewer did an excellent job on Gordon but Brewer usually does.
I was also thinking "82 Million for this?" and then I realized that 31 Million was not able to play tonight.
The Jazz got out rebounded badly. They got out shot both in percentage and total shots taken. They shot a poor FT %. TOs were a problem. It is a miracle they pulled this one off.
It was all about pace and playing the Piston's preferred style of game all night long.
Fez rebounded and Koufos got 6 points in 5 minutes. Maynor hit a 3. It took the contribution of every Jazz player to win this.
The Jazz are hurting without sufficient long range shooting. The 3 guard offense (DET and POR) seems to give them a lot of trouble.
Sloan almost got out coached. I was impressed with the DET coaching moves.
The Jazz have to find a way to run at their preferred game pace or they are going to lose some more.
Not the prettiest game, but Carlos finished extremely well. Lets see how long it takes everyone to jump back on the Boozer Band Wagon.
Not the prettiest game to watch but highly competitive. Shocked at just 18,355 ending the sellout streak. However, it was electric in the building who were there and the most loud this year. That was cool.
Boozer bandwagon has happened, because his attitude whether going for new contract elsewhere or not is is problem. Our problem is how he is playing.
The man is making a "major effort" to do it on both ends and he seems more like the Booz That I used to say could be as good as Karl was. That is the Boozer I used to love and would like to see it return then maybe we can work this out.
I watched him at Duke frequently and always thought he could be better than has shown defensively.
DWIL great block at end. This was excellent team defense and we are playing well at the end of games.
I can see why people want Hornacek to take over for Jerry. His asute tv observations. Also he has worked with AK shot. Now we are seeing the AK of 3 years ago.
Kudos i will admit to Jerry for playing Koustos and he contributed to victory.
Portland figures to be the toughest game on the 2 week stand, although OK CIty could be tougher than many think.
On David Locke: Worse by the day sorry. I heard because of a misguided comment the CLippers suspended Lawler and Mike Smith
STerling should bow to these men especially Lawler for Loyalty that no one else showed "Don" dating back to San Diego.
If Michael Smith mr BYU was not appreciated by Sterling, i would likely even greet him off the plane with thousands of others, if he came here for "expert play by play"
PRESSURE ON MILES AND KORVER
I hate to change a winning formula. For the first time in a couple of years, I am seeing the tough mentality return to this team. The win in San Antonio, hanging on in New work and routing Philly is encouraging me that the horrible road woes end.
I would be happy with .500 on road and about 34 home wins.
I admit Jerry has a tough job finding time for CJ the "one trick Pony" That Houdini reports which could not be more accurate.
Korver could be pine wise with more shooting meltdowns we have Matthews now.
It's good to see AK 47 has some punch left in his game. I have long been a fan of his who has been hoping he can resurrect his game for years now. I'll cross my fingers and believe it can continue.
You look surprised when they pass you the ball in deep for a shot. You take time before you decide to shoot. Last night you got fouled instead of blocked.
Sloan yelling at you and getting blocked is slowing down your shooting decision/reaction time. You did not used to have this problem. When you are in deep expect to get the ball. The Sloan system is designed to get you the ball. Practice catch and shoot in deep until you arms fall off. If you get faster on your catch and shoot reaction you will get blocked a lot less and make a lot more shots.
You need playing time and confidence. Some nights you are a better match up than Fez if you can get your low post game together. You had 6 points in 5 minutes. We know you can shoot, rebound and play D.
Hope this helps buddy. You have a bright future.
Go for it.
I wonder if Boozer watch's tapes of the game. While he is so consistant on offense, the sad thing is he is the same on defense as well. He plays no defense. I watched on 3 occasions in the 4th quarter last night, Bynum and Gordon drive right past him for layups. Booz could be the total player if only he would see the importance of D.
Call it whatever you choose, but it was in my opinion a gutsy win! Now, this team has shown it can put forth effort and as a fan and I'm sure the coaching staff agrees they will and should be expected to give this kind of an effort every night. When we get Korver, Price, C.J., and Memo back there will be no reason that these guys shouldn't put out like last night, and when exhausted ask for a breather and a good replacement can come in and do the same. This is what basketball is all about, and to be a top rated team is what is needed. Good game men!
jazz win, at least i can be happy about one thing today.
go jazz.
Good win (tougher game than I thought it would be). AK good job on 3 point shot you redeemed yourself from Cav's game and got that monkey off your back. Sloan you pulled it off, almost got out coached. By the end of the 3rd quarter I was thinking to myself and saying "there back". Especially on defense, but then they started clogging up the middle and blocking shots. So no complaints here. Also if they trade Boozer and don't get a quality player like Bosh this team will stink. Good game Booz.
Locke is Terrible!!!!!!!! It's TV or nothing for me. I hope Sloan continues to play Matthews and Minor. Gives Korver some time and leaves Price and Miles on bench except for emergencies. Trade Boozer for Okafor... Kirlinko for Ellis and or Maggette and Turiaf.
Umm and why would we need Ellis, while we have williams, maynor, and matthews with CJ and Korver comming back soon.
Maggette is horrible on defense just ask Golden states fans he is horrific as fox sports stated saturday on their main page.
Turiaf lol your joking right.
You people tend to forget what AK brings to the table.
Why would NO want boozer? they already have an excellent power forward it wouldn't make them any better
Indeed, Locke is more than terrible!!!!!!!
1. His play-by-play doesn't flow, is not fun.
2. He often did not mention what was the score for a long period of time, even when a bucket had just made.
2. Almost every game he let his computer make that stupid and distracting beep or ting sounds and then repeatedly said: "I am sorry."
Locke, why haven't you talked to the guy before you or even pay him $200 bucks a game to tune in a few games and give you some critics?
Boozer is doing great and some people are talking about trading him. He is a great player. He couldn't help the needed surgeries last season.
I say we keep him if he plays as hard as he is doing now.
Go Boozer. I hope the empty seats last night were your fickle fans. There were and are still thousands who know you can play.
Tood the air in Santa Ana has you confused. You think Hornacek could be a coach? Please... he has Korver up to the 56th best percentage in the NBA. That is his only task as well as helping AK. 3 years ago AK had a shot now he seems to be finding it again, with Korvers inability to shoot I am loathe to offer Hornacek anything but a seat in the upper bowl.
He would have to manage people and that is a shortcoming he has let alone manage all the personel and officials and players. There is a reason he is an assistant...that is becuase Jerry feels sorry for the man.
Where did the Jazz find Locke, I can't stand listening to him. His voice is irritating. I would rather listen to classical music than listen to him do play-by-play. To tell you how bad his voice is, when the Jazz are playing I turn down sound and just watch the radio! Send his to UVSC and find another announcer.
I've posted this before and I will continue to post it. Why does TNT start doubleheader telecasts with the 1st game starting @8pm est and it is in the eastern time zone the teams that are playing? That always gets the 2nd game of the twin bill starting around 8:50pm mountain time. I'm sorry but that is just too late to start basketball games. Thats 11pm est! ESPN was doing the same thing to us here a year or so ago. What can we do, the media rules the world today? Thats just a tiny bit of my distaste for these mongrels. Media response-stick it down their throats, what can they do about it?
This game started out as a ho hum affair then got interesting in the 3rd and 4th. It was nice to see Boozer pick it up and finish strong. AK almost redeemed himself although I still find his game and attitude rather lacking overall. Glad we had a few guys whose heads were in the game because the rest of the team seemed to be checked out.
