Beck is brilliant | 5:07 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009

Glenn is brilliant. Anyone who carefully listens to him can see that he gives very good arguments in favor of sound positions(although sometimes he does get a bit carried away with his emotional enthusiasm). Nonetheless, he is exactly what this country needs. He has done an incredible job exposing the corruption in Washington that feeds the most ridiculous--and(make no mistake) dangerous--policies.The left would destroy this country. Take health care for example. The liberal left (led in congress by the incompetent Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid---what a joke he is)would destroy our health care system in order to fix some of the problems with it. Glen is so popular simply because he says what needs to be said and what no one else will say (and he scares the left because he is so good at it).

Beck probably can win the Presidency in 2012 or 2016. He speaks for the common man and has values and impeccable moral values.
That's Entertainment | 5:09 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
This will be entertaining!
Are they radio personalities or are they politicians?
Will they be held up to the same scrutiny as a candidate or will they just dry up and get fired like someone else from CNN.

Fox Party banned from WH | 5:12 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
This is what everyone has been saying. That Beck and Fox News aren't reporting the news instead they are acting as a political organization.

Then everyone wonders why Obama didn't want to give legitimacy to political organizations and allow them to disguise themselves as a news organization.

We aren't some kind of third world country where news organizations are leaders of some political movement. This is all the Obama administration needs to ban the Fox Party and its members and employees from taking part in legitimate press conferences and interviews.

Let them organize their political movements from the confines of their Party HQ at Fox News.

Smacks of very large egos.
Following charismatic leaders never turns out very well. This is sadly what has been predicted for years.
Someone's image on TV is more important than a properly vetted, qualified, leader.
These folks will find it difficult when they are no longer the peanut gallery, and now have questions asked of them.

Beck, Hannity, Ingram, O'Reilly - all cut from the same hysterical cloth. Can't stand the fact that a Democrat is in the White House. Get over it; Obama is in and will be in for eight years. Health care will be reformed and America will win.
Tubster | 5:19 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Good for Glenn Beck and good for the citizens of our grand republic for getting something like this organinized.
Aint nothing wrong with more voices and ideas being heard in the town square.

They are not anti-American. If they are scrutinized it won't be because they have friends and associates who are radical marxists. These are true patriots and I would back them up in their fight against tyranny. Good job Beck. Keep the faith.
@fox banned. How can you make it sound like some shady stuff is going on behind the scenes with Fox news, when the white house is chock full of sinister organizers and communists. Take back our country now!

Are you talking about Beck or Obama?
Wayne | 5:26 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Beck speaks the truth about corruption in Washington. The only ones belittling him are the ones who refuse to listen to what he says. NONE OF THESE PEOPLE even attempt to address the issues he raises, preferring only to attack him personally. He primarily tells people to ask themselves WHY there are admitted radicals in the Administration whose own statements on tape say they despise the free market, view Mao as the person they look to most for inspiration, praise Chavez and his revolution, want to re-distribute wealth and have the workers of the world unite! Glenn's efforts to awaken the citizenry to politcal action are admirable, effective, and sorely needed.

Utah is so out of touch with the rest of the Country. Only in Utah would it be believed that Glenn Beck is mainstream enough to be considered a viable option. Only fringe right wingers think he's normal.
Billy Bob | 5:35 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, and Sara Palin are awesome!!!

They threaten Obama/dems and all their idiotic policies. (Spend, spend, spend and week foreign policy)
aurum79 | 5:36 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I predict that Glen will self destruct in scandal due to his mental illness. We liberals know that can't manage that much hate from an emotional standpoint, and you need to open up your heart and think to live fully. Beck and his dangerous sycophants are bad for America and for democracy.
/b/4ever | 5:42 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I can only hope Beck or Palin wins the GOP ticket in 2012... what better way of ensuring four more years of Obama! Please, Repubs, nominate one of these kooks!

A high school education, wow, Mr. Beck, I'm impressed! I guess what matters most is your acting ability and the fact that you yell louder than most, not your actual cognitive abilities.
Mary Bergman | 5:45 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Mental illness, Aurum? Watching Pelsoi, Reid and Barney Frank.....now that is mental illness.....they have gone mad...totally mad and taking the country down the tube.....It is time to take our country back and we can only do it with flushing Washington, top down.......

As a fellow LDS, I'm ashamed to have Beck associated with our religion.

He does made many valid points about small government which on the surface make a lot of sense.

However his sensationalist ways will soon cause much of the people that have "interest" in his views, to not take him seriously anymore. He will be like the boy who cried wolf.
manny14 | 5:48 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I find it beyond amusing that a liberal will accuse a conservative of "hate" when that is the primary motivation of liberals. They hate pro-lifers, capitalism, religion (Christianity), business, military, people who disagree with them, guns, and anyone who makes a dollar more than them. They believe the government is the solution to everything. Please before you throw the term "hate" around look in the mirror!!!

Anybody want to refute what Beck actually says or will you simply continue to try to marginalize him? People call others names when they cannot offer a rebuttal...or when they are under the influence of the "mainstream" media or intoxicated by the Administration's KoolAid.
Please no! | 5:50 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I am a conservative and happen to be LDS. But, I pray that Beck does not go into politics. He's embarrassing enough as it is. I'm tired of having to explain to people that he does not represent my political or religious stances. There are folk idiotic enough to think that all LDS people are just like him because he happens to run is mouth too much on national TV. Even worse, it doesn't help when I go to church and all I hear is how awesome Beck is! These are dark days for conservatives. Our best leaders are ambassadors to China and our weakest are glory mongers on radio and TV. Embarrassing. Just plain embarrassing. Up Romney and Huntsman. Down with Beck and his lot.

@aurum79, Liberalism is a mental disorder! How else can one describe what is happening in the halls of power. Destroying us financially and weakening our stance among the nations of the world in such a short period of time. Suicide!

Good for Beck. His opponents couldn't carry a debate based on facts and therefore don't have a leg to stand on. He's championing Common Sense. Those who make fun of Glenn just don't realize their ideology is the Titanic in iceberg filled waters.
Orson Buggeigh | 5:58 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
The idea (fantasy) of Palin and Beck at a table having a logically sound, coherent conversation ... sorry, I can't keep a straight face long enough to type the rest of it.

Aurum, I predict the liberals will be thrown out in huge numbers in 2010. The gig is up. They have shown their true colors. Anti american, pro socialists. Take from anyone with money, give to anyone without money. Everyone is equal. Individual effort does not matter. Its all about the collective. Brother in arms with Castro, Chavez, Carl Marks. Time to take Americe back from the progressives before there is no America left to take back.
Jeff | 6:01 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
There is no way Beck will ever hold an elected political position. The only people who take him seriously are extreme, fringe right-wingers. There are several posted comments above by conservatives which denounce Beck. It's not gonna happen.

Hey, I listen to him. He's got quite an ego and he's full some paranoid ideas. At least he's not as hateful and racist and ridiculous as Limbaugh, or as whiny as Laura Ingrahm or Mark Levin.

It's a free country. People can say what they want. It's what entices and incites unstable people to do however, that is worrisome.

This is outstanding! I left the US when Reagan came along. Knew what was going to happen - and it did. NEVER thought it would get worse - and it did. And now that a man that actually has a thought and can actually speak in full sentences is ELECTED (unlike '00 and '04) and the fact he is black has brought out just what these fools are about. To progressives in the US if you think it looks ridiculous from where you are you should see it from a distance. What a hoot! Bring on these fools. They simply don't know what to do? Love it.

Don't want Gleen Beck to hold office and I'mj fairly certain that that its not on his radar scope. What I want and hope for is that he will be one of many who will sucessfully rally the sensible electorate and turn out the nitwits in Washington who want to give us cradle grave "benefits". As Benjamin Franklin stated; " this country will last until the people find out that they can vote themselves benefits." I want my government to protect this country. I do not want their "health care". Can you imagine the same people who gave us cash for clunkers running our health care?? Think about it!
Aaron | 6:23 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Whenever I hear people repeat nebulous quotes like "take our country back" I'm always left wondering who exactly is talking.

Obama, for better or worse, was elected by the majority of Americans. Obama is America's choice.

If you want it back, who are you, and from whom are you taking it?
MormonDem | 6:25 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I will pray every night between now and 2012 for a Palin/Beck GOP ticket. Oh, that would just be wonderful.

I figured the GOP would have realized after 8 disastrous years of Bush and their trouncing in 2008 that dumbing everything down to pander to Joe the Plumber was a bad strategy. But apparently they've decided that their mistake was in not dumbing it down enough!

Beck takes his political ideas from a fringe Mormon nutjob (Skousen) who interfered with FBI investigations and thought slaves liked being slaves. (And who knows where he takes his meds from...)

And Palin mixed up Iran and Iraq the other day in a softball interview.

Yes, these are apparently the people to lead us out of trouble times.

Guess that's what happens when you underfund education for decades...

"They [liberals] hate pro-lifers, capitalism, religion (Christianity), business, military, people who disagree with them, guns, and anyone who makes a dollar more than them. They believe the government is the solution to everything."

Is this what Beck told you?

You're WRONG! So, so, so very wrong.
Independent Voter | 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
I have no sympathy for, nor interest in, political muckrakers. Controversy sells news and books. Far more difficult is respectful dialogue (even where there are differences). Perhaps Mr. Beck could use his influence to model a more constructive approach.
In the middle | 6:32 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
It seems people are either die hard right, or die hard left these days. My views are torn right in the middle of left and right wing ideologies. The more hate the left gets for the right and vice versa, the less united we become as a nation.

Glenn Beck is going to be Democrats' best pal since Chenney. He is going to help independents and moderates make decisions really fast.

Conservatives and Fox News!!!

Palin, Beck, O'Reilly vs. Obama, Olberman, Couric.

Obama = terrible policies!!!!

Olberman and Couric = terrible ratings!!!!!!

I have a lifetime love of the LDS, I was raised among them in the west.
I would pray that my Mormon brother and sister reflect on the character of the people whom would be perceived as speaking for them.
Glenn Beck is a corrupted, and damaged soul that can bring nothing but shame, and harm to those he presumes to speak for. I am concerned an fervor over ideology is clouding otherwise very good judgment. I would ask that a habit of demanding an sincere opposing opinion should be considered before taking serious any vile that comes from Mr. Beck.
Valeria | 6:43 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Good we need someone there with some "common sense"
Keith | 6:45 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
We have a mainstream media that will simply not be critical of this administration and therefore others must. You may not like Beck but he must be on to some things because the "left" is so after him.

Kirk | 6:46 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Beck is seen nationally as a fruit cake conservo extremist. Kinda like Limbaugh. Two people serious republicans would like to distance themselves from. Somebody mentioned Beck/Palin. That is scarely to even consider. To one other poster. Liberals are independent thinkers and conservatives all ride the glass train together.
Give Peace a Chance | 6:50 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and all these kooks are nothing but entertainers. They will create controversies out of nothing because ignorant citizens loves to be fed lies and more lies. They feel empowered that some bozos like Beck think alike.

Remember: They're entertainers. They get paid to stir up things. The more stirrin, the more ka-ching!
Anonymous | 6:53 p.m. Nov. 21, 2009
Fox News is not reporting the news, so much as opining and passing it off as the news. Like that Fox is acting as a political organization which dictates policy, claiming to only mirror it. In that sense, Glenn Beck of Fox News deserves his audience, as his audience deserves Glenn Beck, in that each loves mirrors more than reality.

Besides, when one hears someone repeat quotes like "take our country back" one can but wonder which spirit is talking through that person.

The spirit talking seems to overlook the fact that Obama was elected by the majority of Americans.

So, when one finds oneself saying, "we want the country back", then who exactly are you, and from whom are you taking this country, and are you a danger or a benefit to democracy?

You are certainly not in the majority, as the majority elected Obama.

But then, Fox, Beck, and his audience are a minority-- but one which delights in unhappy denial of it. (They believe this is their country, ONLY.

Fortunately, both Beck and Fox and their audience are of limited duration and bandwidth and will soon be but a shameful memory, like Rep. Joe McCarthy.
