in better shape because he needs more minutes out of him. The Jazz have won all 3 games Fez has started. When he is in the opponents do not get a lot of lay ups. He alters the game.
Fez has to get to the point where he can go hard for 30+ minutes. Ditch the smoke Fez. Sloan will make you a star if you listen and produce. Sloan keeps saying you have talent. He does not give praise easily.
Last year we wondered if Fez's contract would be renewed. This year he is an important part of the team. He still can't do much more than dunk on offense but he plugs the middle and alters shots.
He makes Boozer less of a liability on defense.
Fez give the Jazz an alternative approach that they used for years before Okur. The big defensive C.
Two approaches are much better than one. However, Sloan needs that approach for some teams for whole games not 15 minutes.
Fez you are holding the Jazz back by not being in shape to run 30+ minutes. You change the defense but you can't if you are on the bench.
Come on Fez try eating all natural foods for about 2 weeks to a month, and you’ll be in 40% better shape I guarantee it.
Trust me I tried it and it worked for me.
I barely get tired when I work out at the gym, run then go play pickup games in basketball and if it’s the same day of practice ill go to rugby practice which we do plenty of running in. and yes I do this all in one day at least 1 or two times a week depending on when I have practice but I still go to gym to work out and play basketball when I don’t practice all week besides weekends.
And I can tell you, my whole system basically got cleaned out just from eating foods that were not scientifically altered.
Ok so I also took fiber while on colon cleanse to help clean out system but hey it’s all natural.
I doubt he will read any of these articles so this is basically a good way for anybody to get into better shape minus the rugby and sports if you don’t play sports that is.
The early foul trouble he gets into isn't helping him a whole lot either. But Sloan and Fess himself need to not give up. Less minutes isn't going to help him get in better shape. Good things happen when Fesenko is on the floor, and we're even getting a good look at his passing ability out of the post, so now everyone knows I wasn't making that up. If he can get at least 11 minutes a game initially, I know he can work his way into taking on more.
Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!
Keep starting him for a few more games Jerry and maybe just maybe we will all be pleased including Fester! Playing time regularly will get him to where we all want to see him.
. . . as a conditioning project. They speak the same language, share the same background and culture. AK should "adopt" the big fellow and stay on him daily about his conditioning. If nothing else, start making him believe he could be a Ukranian national hero if he cared enough to work at it.
What a bunch of ridiculous comments. Did you guys watch the last game? Fesenko looked ridiculous. He picked up stupid fouls and couldn't run the offense.
First guy- Fesenko will never ever get 30 minutes a night. Millsap doesn't get 30 minutes a night and Millsap is a stud. If Fesenko gets 15 minutes a night that is way too much. He didn't even get that many minutes with his national team, which is as competitive as the Jazz.
Second guy- I'm glad you feel better working out, but do you really think you should be giving Fesenko workout advice? I don't know you, but Fesenko is a professionaly athlete. He gets payed $800k a year to be in shape, chances are you workout for your health. Fesenko knows more about being in shape than you do. His body fat was down below 10% and he ways over 300lbs. How many guys can do that? Save your advice, you look foolish.
Chuck Nunn- Playing 48 minutes isn't going to get him into shape either. Players have to get into shape OFF the court. Fesenko probably got 25-30 minutes with the Flash. He came into training camp in the best shape of his career, but he's still not keeping up. Fesenko looked out of place in the offense against the Spurs. The Jazz can't afford to play him 11 minutes against play off contending teams.
Lastly, to the guy who thinks AK should take him under his wing. Does speaking the same language mean you are going to be friends? Jerry Sloan is not gonna hold any players hands, if Fesenko can't get into shape by himself, he shouldn't be getting payed so much money. They had Harpring as his gym buddy last year, if that didn't get him motivated nothing will (it probably did motivate him, people talked highly of him at the beginning of training camp.)
When are you people gonna realize Fesenko isn't that good? Mo Almond dominated the DLeague and couldn't crack the rotation for 3 NBA teams. Fesenko was a scrub in the DLeauge... think about it.
Since when do people from the Ukraine and Russia speak the same language - which is it, Ukrainian or Russian - sheesh people, talk about foolish comments!!!
re: Speak the same language
Actually all Ukrainians know Russian. Some don't like speaking it because of political reasons but we all know it. Fess is one of the people who actually speaks Russian better than he does Ukrainian.
Regarding whether that means he and AK have to be friends - no, that doesn't. But it happens to be that they actually are on very good terms which Fess mentioned in a few interviews.
And regairding his conditioning - it's a shame Harpring is in Atlanta recuperating. Fess is still far from perfect in terms of being in shape, but he's better than he's ever been for the Jazz, and I think Harps influence last year played a part in it
You don't know basketball. period. If Fes not player who will be. Under Sloan no one will fully open except 2 guys. ( Stockton Malone). AK All star if he played other than Jazz. Jazz have too many one dimensional players. If shoots cannot defend, if defends cannot shoot. That's why they have to compensate each other all the time.
Fesenko has to play for the Jazz to get a ring. They can win without him but not the big apple. Don't forget the Jazz are trying to find a home for Boozer. With Boozer gone, playing time includes Kofous and both see they have a roll. They are highly paid pros but they are still kids. I wish Harpering was back but as Sloan says, you have to play with what you got. This can be the team of all time if they come together, don't get hurt and play hard.
To the guy who says I don't know basketball...
I agree with most of what you said (except Sloan does develop players and AK was an All-Star under Sloan. Ever since he signed a big contract his numbers have dropped, I don't think Sloan is to blame. It would be interesting to see AK in a system like the Suns though...)
The Jazz do have too many one dimensional players. Everyone is going crazy cause Wes Matthews hit a few three pointers and can take it to the rim. Shouldn't every guard in the NBA be able to do that? But to the Jazz its rare. Brewer can hardly dribble and has no jump shot, Korver can't dribble or take it to the rim, Millsap is an undersized big man (but I love him) Boozer and Okur aren't tough enough on defense, Ronnie Price is too little, same with Maynor. Maybe CJ Miles can be complete someday.
Fesenko still looks a little clumsy, but he's getting himself into the right positions. I'm always shocked with how quick on his feet he is for a 300 pounder.
The Spurs signed Ratliff for $800k
