Comments about ‘Utah Rep. Carl Wimmer bills’

Arizona has an amendment to their State Constitution that prohibits any individual mandates in health care. I really like it. Some are speculating that this will actually exempt Arizona from any socialized medicine coming out of DC.

I hope it does. And I hope Utah can get on that band wagon. If so, maybe this becomes the Kelo Effect. That is the horrible US Supreme Court decision in which government can take private property from person A and give it to person B if they feel person B will use it in a way that would increase property taxes. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!! The result is that virtually every state legislature (both Republican and Democratically controlled ones) passed laws that nullified Kelo.

Maybe Arizona is leading the way and we can dump Obama-care as a last resort. Constitutional law has long held in many areas of transaction and commerce law that States can trump the Fed. Not often used but when it is SCOTUS has sided with the State.

Mr. Wimmer is an idiot and does not represent me. If you want to conduct drug testing before you can get food for your child, I suggest we conduct some intelligence tests before you can run for the legislator. It is preposterous to spend thousands of dollars drug testing people so they can eat. When was the last time we drug tested someone before they drove on public roads, used the library, called the fire department, went to a free clinic, sent their child to school. This is just more crazy talk from the crazy talking rightwing, religous nutcases that seem to abound here. Makes. Me. Sick.

I am amazed at how many liberalies there are even on this forum. Welfare is wrong period. Why is it my responsibility to feed you? It is wrong for the government to take from one person and give it to another. I am very supportive of this law.

As far as the federal health care bill goes. if you want socialist medical care, move to Cuba.

Wimmer is the least effective member of the legislature. I guess some people want to know which poses he will be making for his "Legislators Revealed 2010 Calendar" but the market for that is limited.

John 3:37p.m Utah government is run by a religion so we don't have to go to IRAN. Please tell me the difference of the Taliban mentality and Pushy Mormon mentality when it comes to Utah State Government.
