If his ankle is still bothering him, I'd say to let it heal up and get ready for the game next week. BYU has depth at RB. If they just commit to the run and make it happen, they should be fine against AFA this week and then hopefully Harvey will feel 100% for next week's game!
BYU has had some great running backs in its recent history. Harvey Unga, Curtis Brown, Luke Staley and Jamal Willis. It would be nice to see Harvey have a huge senior year and get drafted on the first day of the NFL draft.
Rest him
I agree. We need Harvey full strength against Utah. Kariya and JJ should be able to handle the load against Air Force.
Unga has a lot of problems with his ankles.
Rest him. He will get the yards on his first run next week.
Even if Unga plays it will make no difference. BYU's O-line couldn't open a hole against a high school team so ... I would hate to be any running back on BYU's team. Airforce will beat BYU on Saturday by 3...31-28.
Give the D-line the day off.
Their knees will be aching Saturday evening.
Yeah that weak O-Line is probably why he only has 3,201 yards for his career so far and rushes each week for over 100. I hate weak O-Lines that only enable a team rush for close to 200 yards per game. And it will be particularly bad this week since the BYU O-Line will outsize the AFA defensive line by 50-60 pounds. Yep, BYU is in real trouble.
Speed kills. Speed beats size everytime.
Yeah sorry but thats not true... Speed does nothing if you have no talent or strength. Especially at the o line positions. You have to have the footwork and know how to use your speed. Like TCU's line... Air force's defense does not compare to TCU... BYU 34 AFA 14
BYU will lose anyways, I have a better idea, why don't you go and say it to the O-line's face, I bet you will never have the b......lls to do it
Break the record Harvey....and please stay for another year, don't jump yet...
"It's kind of crazy to think that it's coming up. He's always been there for me and helped me through thick and thin"
...is that because Brown was a bust in the NFL?
If you've learned anything this season you'll know that you have no idea what will happen in this game.
speed beat size everytime...except sumo wrestling.
"Speed kills. Speed beats size everytime."
Really? I can have so much fun with absolutes. I'm imaging Viper vs , say, a Mack truck. When they hit, I'd rather be driving the Mack.
Brown hurt is foot and had surgery after BYU. So no he is not a bust unlike Alex Smith.
Question is how many ute RB's have won a Super Bowl?
2 from BYU already come to mind.
Kid is tough and will play through nagging injuries, he has done it most of the season. Good luck Unga, break the record and most importantly help the team get a win over Air Force!
"Speed kills. Speed beats size everytime. "
haha, everytime eh?
If that were true than BYU would have lost every game this season. Right?... "everytime"!
Well I just watched the Utah ST vs Boise St game, and Utah state had speed on D, but weren't big enough to push through Boise's blockers and close the gaps. Even when Boise ran to the outside, half the time, the Utah States defenders got there to contain, but the Boise running back would dance behind his blockers and big gaps they made.
